quick update: sent out my 360 but still wanted to play carbon badly so I went out and bought another 360 core system. So when the other one comes back I will have two.

IIRC, the 3 year warranty only applies towards hardware failures (only top right quadrant is not red). I had to send mine in to get it fixed in February, so I sent it in, bought a PS3, and sold the 360 to my buddy once I got it back.
Haven't regretted it since ;]

don't really care u know got a back up now, and yeah I know about the three red lights of death and that is what i got so yeah I gonna get mine back in a month and I will just have two 360 when I get the other back

oh man don't even remind me of this shit.... my friend got the red ring one day before me. I had purchased the Performance service plan at best buy so i thought i was gold... i bring in my xbox for service that day.. my friend called microsoft that day and had to wait likke 3 days for his box while mine was already with best buy ..... 2 weeks later my friend has his brand new xbox with xbox live gold 1 month free.. and 3 weeks later im still waiting on my xbox to GET FIXED .... piss me off best buy should jus give me an elite for me goin threw all this trouble and payin for that USELESS performance service plan that takes more time than someone without it!!
