I rather stay with my CRACKd Razor, and get myself some Buddy Club Headers Then, wait in line, and get myself a iPhone.

Dont get me wrong, its nice and all, but I rather not take my chances dropping a expensive item like that. Waiting till price decreases, is better.

Just thought I'd add.. if people are wondering why I'm making a big deal about voice dialing and speed-dial.. have you ever tried phoning a number on a keypad that has no feedback when you hit the button? Touch screens are hot shit and all.. but typing on them / dialing a number sucks. I would rather just say someone's name since apple is known for having great speech recognition

^ yeah and if you're driving you have to pull over to make a phone call.
If you're in a rush and need to call multiple people, you don't have time to do that. That's what I missed about my old phone, being able to dial without looking at the phone.

for the people talking about using the phone in your car, i'm assuming its legal to use a phone in your state while you're driving? cause it's not here, and that's why people use a little thing called BLUETOOTH

people arent complaining about speakerphone. they are complaining about dialing. unless you have a nav unit or something else that has a dialer in it, you cant dial the number to even use the bluetooth. with other phones, even with bluetooth, you just grab your phone, and keep your eyes on the road and with actual tactile buttons, you can dial a number without looking at the phone at all.

with an iPhone, you HAVE to look at a phone, and you HAVE to sit there scrolling till you find the number if you want to speed dial. you could crash before you even get to using blue tooth. your only remedy with Bluetooth is a bluetooth nav unit with steering wheel controls and mic.

ohhh, I see what you mean, but my last phone was the HTC Wizard, aka the Tmobile MDA, and that was also a touchscreen/stylus phone.. So are Treos... That's an issue on any touchscreen phone.

And you don't need a nav unit with steering wheel controls & a mic.. I have the parrotkit installed in my civic, it bluetooth syncs all contacts and calls to both the MDA & my iphone...

-The mobile version of OS X takes up 700MB of the device's capacity.

-There's no way to cut, copy, or paste text!

-No A2DP support. (bluetooth stereo)

-Music can't be used as a ringtone -- even if it's just a raw MP3. No additional ringtones will be sold at launch.

-Document file reading -- but not editing -- for PDF, Word, and Excel (only).

-It will take snaps, but won't record video.

-No MMS(pict text)

-No Removable Batt

-No SD slot

-No Sim slot

-No 3G

-No Keyboard

-No Insurance

-NO GPS

-NO IM client.

-No Voice Dial

-No Mail in rebate

for $600 there sure are a lot of NO's

the big green phone button on the side, easily recongizable by your fingertips, takes you right to the dialing pad.

the 5 has a dot on it. place your finger there and you can do everything like an upsidedown ten key. hold the last digit to dial.

because the HTC Wizard is Querty, even when on dialing, dialing by touch is bit tougher unless you use 2 hands. but its atleast somewhat doable.

My company just bought one for testing. We will be testing it and and trying work out a contact with AT&T to get these for all our management staff. If we do then we will be purchasing about 50 of them. Too many bugs right now, but hopefully in the next few months I'll be using one. For now I'm happy with the Pearl.

i keep trying to tell you guys, it DOES have a removable SIM card slot. It's literally right on top of the phone. 3G can be overrated, at least until battery life doesn't suffer immensely due to it ( As per my experience with the Samsung Blackjack )

besides, let's not forget that Apple isn't providing the service, just the phone itself, AT&T had dictation over what features would and would not show up ( to an extent )

and lets also not forget that this is 1.0 software, when has 1.0 anything ever been perfect. Thats what software updates are for :)

mind you, I lost my stylus... but again, this is not a new thing, and I guess it's a matter of preference, but I would rather have a large screen like the iphone. I don't worry about how hard it's gonna be to dial a number when I'm watching dvds that look crisp as HD on my phone, or streaming youtube videos on demand... Besides, that's why I got one of these..

have you seen the screen of a Treo 650? plus iwth Palm OS you can use Divx which is VERY VERY popular.

the only drawback is non widescreen.

I don't understand why not having a SIM slot is such a big deal. Sure it's an inconvenience to change SIMs, but who does that on a daily/weekly/monthly basis anyways?

thats almost as bad as having the phone in your hand.. i mean constantly looking down to dial.

btw try to look up a video on youtube on the road. yeah, you can drive home view it and drive back to where you were previously before your iphone loads it all up.

say thank you to EDGE. outdated, slow, near worthless.

the people who own it will always love it, some will hate it. some rejects it because of the long list of lacking features. in the end.. there will be a phone that mimics the style of the iphone + features we all want and need. thats technology for you.

so get ready to start selling your iphone because chances are, other major companies will make something that WILL easily beat it.

hyped up phone from apple + diehard apple users ftl.
