Love mine, but to make it useful, it definitely has to be jailbroken/unlocked (if you're on other carriers).

Edit the song through Audacity. Convert to MP4. Change file type to M4R and throw onto the phone.

From what little I can tell, you can install 3rd party applications onto the iphone if it's jailbroken.

Now what amazing 3rd party applications are out there that I can't live without is news to me... I'm open to hearing what else it can do though.

Honestly, if you dont feel comforatable with Jail Breaking your phone, then dont do it yet.
By the end of February, there will be a new update that allows for the instalation of 3rd party programs.
Apple will also be releasing a SDK (Source Developers Kit) that will allow the development of these programs.

Ok.

Jailbreak basically allows you to run all those third-party apps (97% free) which you can easily install with an application called "Installer" which itself is installed into the iPhone in the jailbreaking process. First off I can help you guys but you need to tell me your version, just go into your settings and check.

After the whole jailbreaking process, you can install some pretty neat apps. I myself have a Game Boy Advance emulator, so I can play those GBA roms on my iPhone when I'm bored. I have a guitar tuner so I can tune my guitar or other guitars when a tuner is not available. I have an iPhone version of Guitar Hero. The list goes on and on...I even have an app which simulates a guitar, you can actually hold down chords and strum them. For those of you who like taking pictures of your Si and want to upload them some apps allow you to directly upload them to sites like flickr.

For those of you who are a bit more computer "savvy", go to AppSnapp (from your iphone). Just make sure your version is right!

Yea thats absolutely right. Most of the applications are developed by individuals who have the brains and creativity and they simply offer it for free. The application called Installer does exactly what its name implies. It shows you a list of programs which are available, including themes, separated into categories. You simply choose which ones you want and click on it and it'll install it for you. Uninstalling is just as easy, just go to Installer and find the uninstall button. Everything is really straightforward.

Try jailbreaking it if possible, go to AppSnapp. If you have any questions just ask. A good resource would be ModMyiFone.com - iPhone Forums and News and its forum.
