I played with the demo one at an apple store today.. iphone ftmfl. I'm disappointed to say that.. but holy shit.

This phone was honestly made for the apple/ipod fanbois to be entertained with. i had fun playing with it for a bit (it has sweet effects and gadgets), however.. The call quality was far worse than the quality of my $140 verizon phone I just got two months ago.. The keyboard was attrocious.. I had a horrible time trying to type on it.

Web was.. just as everyone said, ridiculously slow. Why did they even put internet on there if it's going to take 5+ minutes to load anything? How ridiculous.

Buy the phone if you have $500 to spare and you like to show off new things to your friends / easily entertained by cool little gadgets. There's my review.

You can even back mine up by reading Cyber's posts. Each time so far she has just said 'how much fun she's having on it'. Sorry, phones aren't primarily for fun! Yes, it's a fun phone to dink around with.. but that's as far as it goes. Sorry apple, maybe next time.

I hate apple, but I got a late bday gift, and ended up with the iphone... Normally I wouldn't get this phone but I'm extremly impressed. It's the new generation of phones. The Safari web browser is fast on AT&T's edge network, altho it took 2 days of me being very pissed off and calling a bunch of at&t #'s to get it activated. But it was all worth it when I could hit youtube on my phone's screen and youtube any video .... the navigation is pretty neat too, you zoom by using hand strokes on the phone, it's hard to explain without seeing yourself. I got the 4 gig ipod but i'm considering selling it and getting an 8 gig. It does have a sim card that's removable, but you cannot switch networks....

if you're planning on getting this, i would get my credit rejected on purpose to get the prepaid plan, so you're not stuck with a contract. I'm gonna end up paying the $150 termination fee or whatever it is, and switching over to tmobile as soon as someone unlocks this phone.

I also agree with i-vtec to a point. I do think that from what I've read it is an awesome phone and actually is designed to be a fun phone first and foremost, I just think that the butter-smooth interface covers up a lot that it is lacking.

The price is atrocious.. but damn it looks sweet.

This is where apple ****** up - They are a company that builds computers and the like.. they aren't a phone company.

They should've partnered with a phone maker when making this phone because they left out SO much stuff. I admit, this is a damn fun phone to play with. But it's almost like the shit they threw on there was to distract you from all the shit they left out.

My biggest gripe? Your iphone is the exact same as everyone else's iphone. There is practically 0 customization (From what I could tell dinking around with one) and that's lame.

The dumbest part is that it's an ipod! Why can't you just pick a friggen song from your library, select a 10 second swatch of it, and set that as your ringtone? Or at least be able to download one..

Voice dialing? Donno how they left that out.. They have a quick button thingy to dial a button quickly.. but even that is far slower than just a simple speed dial button.

Insurance is a crippler.. You're lieing to yourself if you don't think this thing will break easily. Why couldn't they just offer insurance for peace of mind? This thing is hot right now.. so being stolen is definitely not out of the option. I already lost one phone.. don't want to be spending another 500 when I lose this one.

The camera on this thing is pathetically weak.. for $500 big ones, I would expect at least 3+ megapixels, some customizing of color saturations and whatnot, ZOOM, and at the very least.. a FLASH! How difficult would that have been?

Battery.. same gripe as with everyone else. Why can't apple just sell batteries that aren't inside the damn thing? I just want one I can take out, slide a new one in, and be on my way.

Still.. the biggest problem in the end is the outdated servers they threw this phone on + shitty call quality. Voice distortion is evident.. slow ass loading times on the internet.

I'm sorry, but this phone is a dissappointment. Hopefully all these kinks will be fixed in time for me to get one! Sorry to all those who already got one. But if you're happy with it (like cybergypsey), then I guess it doesn't really matter to much. I would be pissed if I bought one, however.

this is where apple really F'ed up. when it first was announced and it had no buttons, and i was thinking wow, i hope this things has some kind of insanley accurate voice dial to make up for the lack of tactile buttons. i would have never imagined they completley leave it out.
