my phone was having issues without any hacks to took to apple store and had it replaced...they gave me a 1.1.1 where my other was 1.1.2 and did not want to take time to downgrade and then jailbreak....the 1.1.1 jailbreaked in about 10 minutes and was ready to go...its great

I have the 1.1.2 version and it is working fine now.
I reformatted back to version 1.1.1 since it was having so many problems with safari crashing.
But so far so good.
BTW does anyone know how to make a wallpaper for the iphone?

how do you reformatt back to 1.1.1?

I'm having so many problems with safari crashing..and with the phone just freezing up in general..kinda making me want to get rid of it.

Do you have any proof to back up this statement? I highly doubt that Apple will release a new product when there original isnt even working properly.

download the newer itunes version. It will "restore" your iphone back to your original settings. It goes back to 1.1.1 then connect to your internet using your wifi and upgrade the firmware to 1.1.2

Ive heard rumors of a 3G iPhone, but i havent seen any real proof to back up this up. MacWorld Expo is in 2 days though, so hopefully they will shine some light on this.

Apple announced a newer version of the iphone with 3G. The rumor is that whether the older iphones would be replaced by apple(free or depreciated value + some cash) for the new iphone or not.

yah i dont think there is any "official" announcement but you can pretty much rest assure it will happen in 08'...apple is good and releasing new things one after another...just when you think you have the latest from them..ya don't

engadget actually confirmed it but then again they also said the HTC touch and LG Prada were iphone copies. LOL gotta love a website ran by apple fanboys

the reason they are adding 3g is because Europe does not use edge...if we try and use 3g on same data plan it will cost more so careful before trying to pick up one if they just release it Europe
