ok so i tried this and its working now hopefully it stays working

As per Apple Representative: (on August 10,2008)
1) Go into Settings>Sounds> Under the category Silent> Click Vibrate to OFF
2) Then go back to Setting> Sounds> New Text Message> and choose Tri-Tone
2) Following Step 2> Go back to Settings>General>Reset (all the way at the bottom)>Reset Network Settings
3) While I couldn't reset the phone due to the fact that I was on the phone with the Rep I think he said that it should work afterward. Then again I lost signal with the Rep so I'm not 100% sure. I didn't feel like calling back after waiting about 10 min.

ever hear a song on the radio and have no clue what its called?

Click Tag now and it listens for about 15 seconds of the song and it figures out the Artist, Song, Album, etc. and it gives u a Youtube video on that song.

ya man shazam is sickkk i was in a mall and heard music playin in the background turned it on and IT GOT THE SONG and the song was so quiet too. also i was watching a movie and they had a song playing in the background and again it tagged it... just wow!

anywaz i gotta say this iphone was worth the money i esp love when ppl are like wtf yd u get the iphone its such a waste of money i let them play wit it for like 5 mins and their all like ok.. maybe i was wrong. things that suck: no video recording and the vibrate sucks i never feel it when someone calls

haha hell yeah! theres another app my friend got.. u, personally, can sing a song into the mic for like 15secs and it tries to come up with the song.. it works most of the time..
any other good apps guys ?

According to the Optus website, 3G coverage everywhere around where I live is universal and without break, and yet as per the top shot, my reception in this area is one bar. Calls drop out on a fairly regular basis, and the phone often ends up reverting to 2G. Notably when it does switch to 2G, the bars shown are always full

ok, some people dont know this but...

When you're in 3G you will notice you might have 1-2 bars in that area. and if it reverts back to edge you have full strength, now's that because 3G isn't everywhere and the strentgh of 3g isn't all that great yet.

So, you're calls will seldomly drop but you're data might be running on a slow 3g/Faster than edge connection.

Nothing is wrong with your phones. it's just that Att's network is backwards compatible and that's what youre seeing.

My boss just picked up a 3G during his vacation and the sales rep instructed him to leave the 3G off to maintain a stable cellular signal. I'd say the 3G model is still rough around the edges to say the least, no pun intended.
