Hey guys, I'm a noob from Canada.. so I'm not really in tune with the iphone just yet.
Are you guys still stocking the 1st gen in the Apple stores? Am I able to go down and buy one from there without a plan? And how much is it costing?

Also.. would it be worth my time just to get the 3G or does the 1st gen still reign supreme?

The new 3G iphone is on a quicker network then the 1st gen one and has GPS. Those r the two biggest differences between them. If ur looking to buy either unlocked, ebay would be ur best bet cuz they wont sell the 3G iphone without a contract and they dont stock the 1st gen nemore...also the 3G is sold out in most locations....the new 8gb model is $200 and 16gb for $300...i actually just sold my 1st gen iphone on ebay for $365 and got the 3G model for $200 haha

wow that's both good and bad news. I'm aware of the 3g network and gps, they don't interest me at all. However, ebay seems to only have bid wars and can reach high prices.. I'd like to just buy the 1st gen unlocked just like that.

Thank you! I just did it and found someone. Never really trusted things like that, but I guess it comes in handy when you need it to.

anyone having problems with gps not working or the email?

my gps has only worked twice and the rest of the time it just goes to the big blue circle. my email also recieve my yahoo email late and on top of that it wouldnt setup my account under my current email password. I had to use my old password. that was really weird.

so i tried jailbreakin my itouch with pwngetool...hardest thing to do..i quit i had to restore my itouch 3 times bc i ffed up...the hard part is putting the itouch into FDU mod...ahh!...ill try again later and let yal know but right now i quit bc it pisses me off

just got the phone last nite... its really nice, only thing is i wish i could add good games without having to pay $5 each... any recommendations on which application is a must add, so far i've done last fm, facebook and remote (facebook application isnt as good as jsut going to safari and using that one)
