What carrier are you using now, with SideKick im assuming T-Mobile, if yes, then yes, you can unlock your iPhone and just use that Sim, all your T-Mobile account options should carry over, with the exception of MMS.

unless you are currently a 1st gen iphone owner then the answer is no, you cannot avail of the $199-299 iphone. only 1st gen owner, new contracts and for those current at&t subscribers eligible for equipment upgrades will be entitled to the $199-299 price. at&t will announce in the weeks to come the price of unsubsidized iphone - meaning for those of you at&t subscribers who have different phone and subscribers who are not yet eligible for equipment upgrade but wants to switch to iphone 3g - you will pay full price for the iphone... this is per at&t's latest memo.
we'll see... i think it's a dumb move by at&t if they go with this. everybody should get the iphone for the same price. but whatever... i'm a 1st gen owner so i'm not affected by this nonsense by at&t. |

You can unlock the phone and use it with the internet and text plans. However, the current SideKick plan is $20 a month for unlimited texting and internet. Sadly, this plan will only work with the SideKick as it seems the phone is specially programmed with it through Danger Inc [or something like that]. In order to use the full internet and texting on the phone, you'll have to pay $20 for the internet and $15 for the text plan. As you can see, that's $35 and is far from worth it. |
