Wow... crazy! I'm guessing the price won't be as thin as that loptop though. Any specs on the processor? Optical drives?

I'm the same way, but ever since I got my iphone, I can't keep my hands of of it. It works perfect for me with my mac. I didn't even realize it syncs everything you have on your mac. It even syncs my bookmarks from my computer. I love how it takes no time to do so. When I first plugged it in it transfered everything in no time. I was never good at organization, and now I feel like I'm more organized than ever.

Sure, alot of people aren't going to like it, but from everyone that has seen it or played with or even saw me playing with it were very impressed and interested in it.

All I know is that I love it, and was worth the 600 IMO.

Seems a little low to me, seeing as how the VAIO X505 was around $5K to start.

I guess Intel does not have a brand markup like Sony does (on everything they make!)

Im sorry, I just have to rant. First of all I want to clarify that I am NOT in any way an Apple hater. I had an iPod...until it just quit working after about a year but thats beside the point. This whole iPhone thing just really gets under my skin. I've been perusing the CNET reviews for the last few days now and I just cant believe the number of people who make absurd claims about the iPhone. Ive seen reviews ranging from "best smartphone on the planet" to "blackberry killer" and "nothing in the market can come close to the iPhone." How ignorant must people be?? I mean, there are people who have the iPhone and like it for what it is and its a good device for them and thats fine. I have no problem with that. I dont expect people to like the same things I do or feel the same way about certain devices. But for people to say that the iPhone is a blackberry killer?? Give me an effin break. People would you please just do your research. The iPhone isnt even in the same league as a blackberry or treo. They are high-end business oriented smartphones. The iPhone is NOT anywhere near this type of device. YES, it IS the best iPod ever. I agree. But it is a lackluster phone devoid of many many features and it is extremely overpriced. I know its version 1 but that is still no excuse. The phone component of the device is complete junk. Its like Apple took technology from 2+ years ago and repackaged it with an Apple logo and sold it for twice as much as its worth. The profit margin on these things is over 50%, which means that it cost apple about 250 bucks to make this thing, then they spent millions to make people think it was the next coming of christ and jacked the price up to 500 and 600 bucks.

There are people who like their iPhone for what it is...a bada** Ipod with a mediocre phone attached to it. Perhaps it should be called an Ipod with a phone feature. I know people like cybergypsy really enjoy theirs and thats ok as long as people dont try to ride the hype and try to make the iPhone something it is not...ie a blackberry killer. Anyone who claims this obviously doesnt even know what a blackberry is/does, but they think that anything released by Apple is the holy grail of technology and will pay obscene amounts to own it. Regardless of the fact that its outdated technology shined up and slapped with an Apple logo. Im not talking about all iPhone owners...just those who are led around by Steve Jobs like mindless sheep just waiting for the next Apple product so they can get it and try to tell the world that its the best thing. I honestly think Steve Jobs could take a deuce in a pretty box and put and Apple logo on it and sell it to a million people for 500 bucks. Im so sick of this whole iPhone thing, I almost hate to admit that for a while I was considering one...that is, before I actually found out about it, did my research, and test drove one at an att store.

For those of you who have an iPhone and like it because it fits your needs thats great. Im glad for you. But for those who must make utterly idiotic comparisons and try to hype up something that has already been hyped too much, please give it a rest....seriously. Until a better version comes out theres really no need to try to convince people that the iPhone is the ultimate smartphone in the universe. If it really was that great a device the owners wouldnt need to talk it up as much as some do.

Sorry if i offended any owners. Everyone who has one on here seems to be cool about it. Its just those fanboy morons out there that really erk me...

From what I gather, it seems you get something like this...

For the same price as this, while still getting that ^....

What an offer, I'm getting one tomorrow!

Just for the record, I was demoing the iPhone at work today and when displaying safari, I navigated right here to 8thcivic lol.

I agree it has somethings to work out still, but lets be honest now, what 1st gen product AND software doesn't? It's still glorious to behold. But I agree, I dunno if I'd buy one right now. But since I get a free one, well... I can't complain

yeah, except that while it performs like the first one, it looks like it performs liek this one:

which is all most apple apologists really care about.
