I guess it all depends where you live. If you live in a city, then I guess any carrier would do. However, I live about an hour north of NYC. I ride my motorcycle through a lot of country roads and Verizon is the only carrier that I can depend on.

I'm on ATT/Cingular and use a Blackberry Pearl. I love the phone, easy to use, small, and loaded with features I can choose not to use. Get that!

Or the iPhone.

read: get the iPhone, sell it on eBay, buy the Pearl with the proceeds.

Well opinions are like a--holes, everybody has one. I tried Sprint for about 10 days, and I said "Screw that!". Their customer service is terrible, the phone didn't work from day one. It would not access the Sprint Power Vision. I waited for 5 days for a "tech engineer" to call me and it never happened. I said Hasta La Vista and went to Verizon. I couldn't be more pleased w/ the plan, service, or phone.

I got a Motorola Q Black, and it is awesome! Way better than the AT&T Blackjack. A friend of mine has the Blackjack and it's a little less broad, but it's way thicker. He doesn't like it and wants a Q. It's been out long enough that all of the bugs have been worked out of it. The battery lasts all day long w/o recharging. The Blackjack comes with 2 batteries b/c it uses them very quickly. Go for the Q!

I ended up going with the LG VX8700. Had for about a week now and I like it. I really thought about the iPhone but decided to wait until a 2nd gen or maybe a price drop... Thanks for all your suggestions!
