specs needed...type, speed, timings etc..

and the maker of the memory chips on the stick is more important than the brand of the stick. pretty much all memory gives lifetime warranty. all very reliable.

skiddy, you probably havent heard of Omni because the primarily advertise to Mac computers. untill recent years Macs were super picky about the memory chips they would accept and Omni made ones that would work with mac well.

it sucked cause newegg.com had the crucial 1gb PC-5300 667 for 34.99 with 30 dollar mail in rebate last week. The total was 5 dollars + shipping. I went to go buy it the next day but the deal was over. But you can still get it for 65 with 30 mail in rebate.

which two are you looking at to compare to? Like deluxe said timing and specs would help. But if they are similar/you don't know i would go crucial

Thanks for clearing that up. Crucial has always seemed to make a solid product whether its performance or budget based. Before the DDR2 times, I remember one of their Ballistix models being the best DDR on the market... well not over my BH-5.

Go with Crucial on Mac. They are not always the fastest, but def. the most reliable.

If both guarantee 100% compatibility, then go for the cheapest.

I disagree with that last statement. Crucial/Micron is one of the best memory manufacturers out there, and they have been for a long, long time. While I don't mean to knock Omni but I've never heard of them and no name memory is always a gamble. Plus Crucial/Micron will stand behind the product, Will Omni? Just because they say lifetime warranty be prepared to jump through hoops if you have a problem.

From Omni's website:
"100% ORIGINAL APPLE™ FACTORY SPEC CERTIFIED"

So looks likes it been proven to work.

I've had to return bad RAM to Buffalo Tech, Crucial, Kingston and Edge and never had to jump through hoops.

We're talking about an Intel Mac right? Not one of the garbage PowerPC's? If so, the 'Mac compatible' label should be irrelevant.
