Man... I'm still on level 13. I play with all assists off except for TCS! I've had the game for 2 weeks and I hardly get to play it, because we only have 1 tv at the house and my folks always be watching tv at night. =/

The build date on the current one is 10-25-06 so shouldn't it still be covered??

But anyway the towel trick is very simple.

1) Have a decent size towel
2) Turn on your 360, see the 3 red lights. (make sure no game is inside)
3) Wrap the towel around the 360 tightly so it gets really hot.
4) Wait about 20 minutes (I waited about an hour)
5) After the 20 minutes or however long you choose, turn off the xbox.
6) Towel & system are both going to be hot, so take it off carefully.
7) Let it cool down for about 30 minutes.
8) Turn it on, should be back to green lights

Its like your taking the 360 to the sauna. It get warm & relaxed and starts working again.
I'm going to have to try this. I wish I would have been able to send mine in for free, but they said $139.99 to fix mine, and that comes with a 3 month sample of xbox live, an additional 1 year warranty, and shipping both ways. I guess it's actually a good deal, I just don't have $140 right now to throw towards fixing my xbox.. On another note, if this works you will definitely see some rep coming from me for the help.

Are you sure step 8 isn't "Place Xbox in Trashcan."

I was over @ ephatch and started checking out their thread on forza 2 pics..

http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthr...133150&page=16

I want to know how to do the sti at the bottom of the page. Is there a way to load custom paint jobs that you design in photoshop or something? If you look through the thread there are actually a few pretty impressive paint jobs that surpass the capabilities of vinyl..

No, there is no way to import designs or photos. Everything you see in game was actually created by someone using the paint and vinyl utility.

I rolled with a bunch of car artists in Forza 1. The stuff they could do was insane. Forza 2 only gets better.

I hope you all are joking about trying that towel thing. I can't tell.

As someone who builds and mods pc's in his pasttime, I can't imagine how you would think that is a good idea.

^damn, 3rd repair?!?? That sucks man. I will be the first person out of all my friends that will have to send it in a first time, I couldn't imagine what 3 times would be like.

to Gonzo: I was thinking the exact same thing, which is why I haven't tried it yet. But, oddly enough, I looked into it a little bit and it seems to be a popular thing amongst bunk 360 owners. The weird thing is this - I haven't heard of a single other person having the problem that I'm having.. I get all audio, game loads fine and all, but I just can't see wtf is going on.

Maybe there is something behind it, I would be interested to know what. I can't imagine baking your XBOX could fix any hardware, firmware, or sensor issues.

I will say one thing, this statement...

i know this is basic 360 stuff, but if you have the premium xbox with the hdtv cables, did you check and make sure the switch on the back of the cable dongle was set to your tv type (i.e. standard or high-def)?

Yeah, and I also swapped out the cables.. Like I said, every once in a blue moon it will show video, but most of the time it's just audio. My xbox is officially a paperweight that I waited in line for (9 or so hours).

Steering wheel makes the game 10x better!! If your going to get one make sure its the microsoft one, costs more ($130) but is well worth the money in the form of quality and force feedback.

I haven't played in almost a week. I started playing Rainbow Six: Vegas again & remembered just how incredibly great a game it is.

That's just how it was... Not sure if it was like that when bought, or after I modded it. When I bought it, I went straight to modding it.

Its too bad they don't have a 8th Gen Civic SI in Forza 2, that would make the game so much more enjoyable
