i purchased the mad catz steering wheel a few months ago, and hooked it up to forza2. i really enjoy using the paddle shifters.
it takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it and tweak the steering wheel settings, it rocks! for a racing sim, i wouldn't want it any other way. btw, the mad catz steering wheel is only $60.00 and maybe cheaper if you look around. of course, i wish i had enough money for the logitech wheel, but it costs twice as much. |

A few years back, I purchased a MadCatz wheel & felt it was a piece. Even when I tuned the sensitivity, my car would jerk so incredibly far with even a 1/8th turn. I could never get used to that.
I returned it & bought a Logitech wheel. It was a lot better, in my opinion, but I still didn't care for the way it felt. I could never get used to the feeling of steering wheel feedback but no feeling of being pushed into my bolsters. It really throws me for a loop. I ended up giving it to a friend. Personally, I'm all about the controller.

Oh yeah, I was going to ask.. Where you would look to see if there were any downloads avaliable for this game?
I would like to get the first download as soon as it comes out. Also, has anyone unlocked the Koenigsegg yet? Level 39 = no koenigsegg. And I'm seriously not happy about it. Koenigsegg's are my favorite "new supercar." |

As for the Koenigsegg (sp), have you driven it? Go play with one in the arcade mode. Car's more squirrely than Central Park.

I play with the wheel and all assists turned off. Sometimes though, I'll use ABS and traction control when I'm in a beast of a car.
BTW, I think it's safe to say that if you're looking to buy a wheel, don't go with anything other than the MS Wireless Racing Wheel. So far all review on that thing have been outstanding - not to mention the game was made with that wheel in mind. |

I've had the game since release. I'm on level 24. Didn't play as much lately because it froze every time i started up a game, then got the 3 red lights. But did the "towel trick" yesterday, & i was able to play for over 2 hours so far without any problems.

Towel trick is only a temporary fix. It works for a day or 2, then red lights return. I've done the towel trick like 2 times now. Just called Microsoft today about the repair, and they want $130 for it. I've already sent in a couple to get repaired in the past & they were free. The build date on the current one is 10-25-06 so shouldn't it still be covered??
But anyway the towel trick is very simple. 1) Have a decent size towel 2) Turn on your 360, see the 3 red lights. (make sure no game is inside) 3) Wrap the towel around the 360 tightly so it gets really hot. 4) Wait about 20 minutes (I waited about an hour) 5) After the 20 minutes or however long you choose, turn off the xbox. 6) Towel & system are both going to be hot, so take it off carefully. 7) Let it cool down for about 30 minutes. 8) Turn it on, should be back to green lights Its like your taking the 360 to the sauna. It get warm & relaxed and starts working again. |
