Introducing the 2 newest additions to my garage!
This one was my idea, but a friend's execution. I didn't think I had what it took to make the thing look awesome, so gave the car to him (along with some pictures of the shark face on planes and shots of the AMS Performance Evolution) and let him put his imagination to the test. The end result is, without a doubt, completely beyond anything I would have expected. This car is 100% pure badass, and it runs like a badass too. I've spent a lot of time focusing on the setup of this car and I'm constantly improving it. It's in the 1.22-1.23 second range at Laguna Seca and in the 52-53 second range at Tsukuba. It's not messing around!
This is one I've spent the last few hours on. You can see in the closeup picture why it was over 3000 layers as I did a LOT of individual little rivets to simulate the body being held together by them. The car was painted to match a Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" from the WW2 era. It was, without a doubt, one of the best Japanese fighter planes due to being lightweight, nimble, and powerful enough in a straight line to be relatively fast. What better car to put it on than the Mitsubishi EVO! The numbers on the back are an imitation of what you might see on the car should it be a fighter plane. The EVO is Evolution, obviously, and the numbers are the horsepower the car is putting out.
For reference, here's what the plane looks like:
Overall I'm satisfied with how the car came out considering it's the second custom job I've ever done. Not as good as my friend's creation (which is just amazing), but I don't think it looks terrible either. :)
