40 MS points for the 908 & then 300k+ in game. That's kind of annoying.

You mean Road America?

I hope that track comes back, I really enjoyed it, except for the first corner online. It was never pretty on that course.

Really though I'd like to see the return of Fujimi Kaido and Blue Mountain Raceway. (I loved Blue Mountain II, not so much I...) A drag course would be cool for people who are into that, though without a clutch drag seems somewhat odd.

Why yes, yes I do mean Road America. lol

I never played Forza 1 online but Forza 2 online can be a real headache if collisions are on. It seems like no one else plays with any racing courtesy. Most races I've done online I get punted off the track at some point by a person who either didn't slow down or was by no means clear to enter into a pass in a corner and just slammed my back quarter panel. I'm all about taking the high line if a person has made it up beside me but if you aren't to that point and you're still trying to pass then you're in the wrong.

Ohh well. Just annoying, I suppose.

Well I made my first custom car creation thingy:

It's nothing big, just carbon fiber panels on the car really. I'm sad to say it took me like 3 hours (and like 600 layers), but I really have no idea what I'm doing in that section so what can you do. There are a couple of rogue lines on the car in the pictures that I touched up last night, and I'm going to go back and work on the back hatch more because the trunk design in Forza is wrong (it has the hatch lines going on the inside of the spoiler.. How do you open the hatch then!?), but outside of that I'm pretty damn happy with it. I suck at that stuff.

The carbon fiber doesn't look that weird at all in the game, so I don't know why it got so crazy in the picture. Hell you can barely see it in the game, so who knows. lol

BTW: 2100lbs with a semi-built B18C5 sure makes for a fun little car! It's down on power (think it has like 380hp), but in the corners it'll catch up (and pass) most of which it has come up against online.

i agree fully. I cannot STAND running with someone, and they hit your rear quarter panel on purpose, making you spin out. seriously. why can't people have the common courtesy to GTFO the way if you see somebody bout to pass you up...sorry, had to vent.

rwatters, looks wicked. how did you do the carbon fiber design? looks pretty good so far

Thanks!

I just set a dark gray background on the panel, and then ran light gray stripes down the panels one way and black stripes down the panels the opposite way. That gets the desired effect. If it's too bright you can do what I did which is just put a black layer over it and lower the opacity on that layer to the desired result. It looks a little more realistic that way as well.

The time-consuming part is actually getting it to look like you have carbon fiber on just that single panel. Painting the other side of the panel white (to match the rest of the car) was the most time-consuming part because my TV is small so it's hard to see how things are lining up. Not to mention there's a glitch on the design of the IT-R so part of the hood and trunk graphics will actually go down onto the bumpers for some reason and it's a pain in the ASS to get just those spots covered up because it'll try to cover up parts of the hood and trunk as well. I definitely let out a few nasty words trying to fix that part last night. It didn't help that it was 1am and I was still touching things up (I have to get up for work at 5am). lol

I completely agree. If you want to race me I'll be as clean as humanly possible, but don't pull shit like that. If it was an accident I'm okay with it, but if you do it and don't say sorry, don't pull over to take a penalty, or anything like that I tend to get pissed. I'll leave negative feedback on their Live account when they do that. Hell, just say you're sorry and I'm okay with it! Any time I punt a person on accident I'll immediatly slow down and give myself a penalty as a result (unless they're just driving like a total jackass then I'll go on and take the win).

I think I do this because I'm an actual huge race fan outside of a video game as well. Some of these people aren't that and just like racing in a video game so they have no concept of that courtesy in general. That and some of them are complete douche bags. I know I don't forget when they do it, and payback is a bitch the next race if you try blocking me in return. lol

Ohh well. At the end of the day it's just a video game, but my competitive nature tends to not accept it as just that sometimes and it gets the best of me.

as much as i hate to admit it, you do it on purpose, i'm going to destroy my car to destroy yours...call me vengeful but...seriously, screw that if you like to be douchecake. but i know what you're sayin bro

Sometimes, it's hard to avoid an accident. I race in the first person bumper cam view & I don't always know when someone is trying cut the inside on me. I ususally look around before I enter a sharp curve, but if one is trying to take a bad line on me, that's not necessarily my fault.

Honestly, I'm usually overly nice-- scrubbing too much speed to avoid bad drivers in the interest of a clean race, etc.

RWatters, send me a friends request-- same gamertag as my screen name. I promise I'll try to make it a clean race & if I fail, I'll apologise.

I'll send you one when I get home.

I haven't gotten online and raced for a couple of weeks, now. Lately I've just been working to get to level 50 (done) and now tinkering around with cars to paint (I suck). I have an EVO out right now on a friends account while he paints it up (he's good) and I'm pretty damn excited to get it back. It's going to definitely be worth the wait and the money!

Anyways, yeah I'll add you. I may be down for a little racing now.
