I have had the Curve for a few months. I like it but I want the new 8310 Charcoal housing because my silver housing is all beat up but I can only find the charcoal face plate not the complete housing.

Any suggestions?

You could mess something up and get it replaced under warranty. Whether or not you go that route or change cases i would check out Seidioonline.com and get a protective case. I love mine. I will check on a case swap for you.

just read this. 8310 Housing - PinStack.com

Wow, thanks for the info man.

I don't think I want to deal with breaking my phone to get a new one, but I am willing to take it apart to replace the housing. Maybe that sounds crazy idk.

For now I think I am definitely gonna pick up one of those cases, they look like the nicest ones I have seen so far! the ones I usually see look cheesy and I don't want to put a cheesy case on my nice phone.

Just out of curiosity which case do you have from them?

I have the hybrid case, which i dont think you would want it. The face plate is clear. If lets say your trackball pops out, which i have heard is a know issue, you pay 90 bucks though insurance. if you really want to do a case swap i will try to find directions for you

Hmm I was looking at the hybrid Case, Why do you think I wouldn't like it because its clear and it will show the scratches still?

As far as the case swap there is a good video on YouTube I actually found a link to on PinStack a while back.

True.

What did you mention about known problems with the trackball?

Anyways I think I am either

A. Gonna get the black rubberized hard case and back plate.

or

B. Get the Hybrid Case and Back plate and if the scratches still anoy me then I can always get a new silver face plate.

Thanks again for the help.

It traps a lot of dust, dirt. lint, etc. There is a walktrough on pinstack. Also heard of it poping out on people.

Just picked up my first Blackberry a few weeks ago.

8130 Pearl...never thought I'd get something like this, but I have to admit, it's pretty darn sweet.
