Samsung BlackJack or Blackberry Pearl???
I have a 2 yrs contract w/ Cingular since Aug 2006. It's not even a year yet, so I won't be switching to another provider for a while. But I would like to upgrade my phone. I'm currently debating between the Samsung BlackJack or the Blackberry Pearl???

Black Jack in either case. Blackberry has a limiting factor...all emails go through RIM unless your company shelled out go-zonga dollars for their own BB server even then...I'm not convinced yet that the mail still doesn't go through RIM at some point. As you saw earlier last month...RIM goes down...you ALL go down. With blackjack...WinMo still works off your company exchange server...I use the exchange over-the-air push email and it simply WORKS. Plus I get calendar, contact and task updates. If my device goes down...I have the data on the exchange server AND my outlook on my laptop. I have a three stage backup protection system. If the device goes DOA...then all I need is any other WinMo device and the address of my exchange server and I'm back in business...it will replicate the data to the new device. I'm never away from information. Can't say that with blackberry. As for personal...blackjack all the way...more fun anyway. |

Blackjack is made by Samsung... Cingular 8525 is made by HTC...for the record...HTC makes just about (not all but close) every touch-screen windows mobile (full-blown winmo...not smartphone) on the market. HTC...is huge. |

I have the Blackberry Pearl and I love it!. The suretype is really smart, it figures out what your typing and learns the words you usually type to make up for not having a full size keyboard. I was not sure at first but now its almost like having a full keyboard but on a slim and light phone. The camera quality is awesome and the display resulotion is great too. It does however feel very light and flimsy at times, but all thin phones feel that way. Internet is fast and googlemaps is great for directions.

watching videos on a cell phone is pointless... just a waste of a lot of money....
get a tv or watch on your computer... would you like to see something 1 pixel at a time? pay an extra 50-100 per month for it? if so, write a cheque to me ![]() sorry just my rant .... most of the features are crap the cellular companies just want your money... buy a phone cuz it works well and cheap and easy to use |
