^^ i agree. dont buy it without checking it out in person first. you should also invest in Photoshop or get it from someone. not that i condone piracy.

Since the camera itself (Nikon 7600) isn't widely available yet, there aren't too many people on here that can give an honest opinion about the camera. But based on Nikon's history with point and shoots, it should be a decent camera at the least.

I would pick one of the cameras listed here:

The Canon A560 looks like it'd be the direct competitor to the Nikon you pointed out. For about $200 you really can't go wrong. Canon does a really good job with their P&S cameras. I would definitely recommend nearly anything from Canon's A-series and SD-series cameras as I have used both for leisure and work.

i think to keep it simple, if you want an dslr, go with the D40 - most money can be saved for lenses/filters, programs and your other expenses, if you want to just wait awhile, and P&S will do - they are all very limited but good at what they do.

okay well i got 800 right now and still waiting on the payment from 2 guys in here for a complete retrofit kit(310) and another one for tsx projectors (160)

i have a sony DSC H5 i couldnt be happier. they have a H9 as the replacement. http://i13.tinypic.com/6co4aox.jpg

Not a D-SLR but as close as you can get without the huge pricetag.
