You can't go wrong with Bose. The are a little more expensive, but they are worth it. The sound is amazing and they will carry very well. Try the 150s or 100s, they are all over ebay for less than 100$ a set used. Or you can always get a rock speaker..lol

Bose is garbage, especially for outdoor speakers. They are okay if you are interfacing with a LifeStyle system or something that runs through a Bose amplifier. They run at goofy resistances. Don't like 'em.

Go with Klipsch outdoor. Won't be dissapointed.

All the ones I have heard even the outdoor speakers are good. To each his own.

Indoor depends on what you are looking for - bookshelf, satellite, floorstand speakers - and what kind of sound you want from them - used for music or movies, or both.

There is a million options for that and when you figure out what you want, set a budget. I can help you there and then. My preferences on speakers for movie watching and general use would be Def Tech, B&W, Aperion, Mirage, Snell.

If you are looking for really tight sound for music tastes, look at Martin Logan, B&W, NHT, and especially Tannoy.

I promise you that Bose will be outperformed for half the price of even some of these elite brands I listed. Def Tech, personally, still has the best-bang-for-buck for speakers out there. Look into the BP7006's for floor standing, or if you want small, look at the ProMonitor 800's for bookshelf/mounting.

I can't stand bose outdoor speakers. The sound is absolutely horrific. Anyone who REALLY listens for detail in there will not be pleased one bit. I've had guys with hearing aids tell me they sound like shit compared to others. lol

If you want a good budget speaker, the Polk Atrium 55's are nice. For a bit more, Niles and Klipsch have some seriously good performers.
