Ok, I have had it with f*cking i-tunes!!!
Someone please keep me from destroying this vile device by telling me there is a way to simply move music from 1 folder to another (like one might do with Windows). No, I don't want to make a f*cking playlist!!!! (as the i-tunes tutorial suggests) I just want sh!t organized like it should be. I don't need 8 Bjork folders, 5 AC/DC folder, etc!!! Sorry about the rant, but this is really annoying me...I'm almost wondering if I should have just bought a regular old MP3 player ![]() edit: to be completely clear, here is what I want: Example: Radiohead (folder) Radiohead album a (subfolder) Radiohead album b (subfolder) etc... Thanks for any help!

10 - 4, I hear you loud and clear. That is the stupidest thing in the techie era. You might want to go to cost co and get a good, plush office chair. The whole idea of the i pod is to hold a ton of songs, and you will be there a while if you want to get the most out of your ipod that you paid all that money for! Oh and dont update or delete your songs if you illegally download them. If you do keep your downloading program clean then move the songs to a certain folder before uploading them on i tunes, just a little advice.

So, this can't be done then? Is Apple just like this? They try to make things foolproof and in the process you lose freedom? I mean Windows will let you f*ck yourself in the a$$ if you want...It appears not so with i-tunes...

I organize all my music in Itunes by having to input Artist name then album name then sort the whole library by artist.
I dont see a way of doing folders in I-tunes, unless you create playlist. If I dont want to go through I-tunes then I go through My music > I-tunes > I-tunes Music. In there it has all the artist in its own folder. Let me know if this helps a little.

Not quite sure what you are asking for here. There is other 3rd party software that will allow you to do other shit with music from your iPod but iTunes works great for me but I am pretty techie...
EDIT: just re-read this and it umm, doesn't really make sence. Ignore me, I'm tired and need sleep... Last edited by Ryd1ZZ; 05-02-2007 at 01:35 AM. |

I tunes already set it up with each foled by each artist. Reason why I think because I have renamed all my songs in i-tunes. I havent tried re-arranging these files. But maybe thats where I-tunes gets all the info from to shown in I-tunes program.

wow, sounds like a whole lot of bickering (sp?) from someone who clearly doesn't know how to use the software ha ha.
first of all, make sure your music is labeled correctly. There is a difference between "Hip Hop" and "Hip-Hop" so make sure stuff like that is labeled the same across all of your music. Next, make sure in the preferences that you have it set up to organize your music for you. It will automatically sort it based on artist, then subfolders for albums, etc. Also, if your talking about folders inside the itunes application, it is possible (just add a folder from the file menu) but you don't really need that. Just use the browser. I think it's in the view menu. you can choose the artist you want to listen to and if you wish, you can also choose a particular album. If you need any other help with the program, feel free to hit me up. I respond pretty quick to PM's if im on the computer. I will be more than happy to help :) later Eric |

Why would you want to manage all the files on the computer anyway?
I don't get this mentality. Let the software do the work. You can Shift-click (first seen on a Mac :)) multiple files, or CTRL-click on Windows disparate, incongruously listed items and batch rename/resort categories, albums and artists. Yes, "Bjork" and "Bjork with Jan Hammer" are different artists. iTunes can sort them this way; or drop into File-->Preferences--> Advanced and make sure "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" is unchecked and stop yer whinin'. :P |

I love winamp and have never had a problem with it. Although, I deleted it when I delted my entire library of music being retarded and haven't really used a comp for music (other than burning cd's) since then. I use my phone as my mp3 player and it's all drag & drop. Oh, and for the record Caliguy.. You really don't need any program that lists 5 ac/dc files.. you don't need 5 ac/dc files in the first place.
