Windows media file to DVD?

This is probably a lame question. Please humor me anyway

Is it possible to burn a Windows Media file to a DVD and have it work in the DVD player? I am using a 2 year old DVD player (if it matters).

Thanks for the help

Certain programs will have a built-in converter. I use NeroVision and it will automatically convert wmv or avi files before burning it onto a DVD.

Nero's a really powerful program and I highly recommend it.

you should use a lossless codec such as Huffyuv. it will be faster and you wont loose quality twice. another option is DV-AVI out of WMM but you need lotsa HDD space.

ConvertXtodvd has worked very well for me in the past. I also recommend this avenue.
