you know it really says somethign if the best you can come up with to put something down is a nondescript claim and a shredder. the least the guy could have done is gone out, researched found a list of hardware that isnt compatible with vista and claimed for those to be the specs of his pc.

I'm not sure why he posted up that video. He's basically telling the world he's stupid and knows nothing about computers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Windows Vista. The incompatibility is with programs and software designed for Windows XP. He should be blaming himself for not researching the programs he uses and seeing if they're compatible with Vista. No matter what, for every OS release, there'll be some incompatibilities. With his theory, we should be sticking to one and only one operating system to eliminate any chance of a program being incompatible. If a hardware doesn't work with an operating system, it's because of the drivers (software) with the OS, not the piece of hardware itself. The hardware itself is either in two states, functional or non-functional.

The blue screen of death is hardly a point of argument. We don't have any details on it. I can tell you a lot of the times it happens because of a hardware failure. And on the rare occasion, it happens due to software corruption - drivers, registry, system files corrupting, which can also relate to hardware failing and corrupting files in the process. Without any information on it, what's the point of mentioning it in the video?

agreed. ive had 2-3 BSOD in my 5 years of using XP, and it was always related to hardware failure. once i had a harddrive crash, and another was a loose cable somewhere in the case.

besides, if he thinks that *nix or Mac OS has a broader hardware compatibility than windows he's in for a shocker.

I actually had a post on here about the problems with vista that my father in law had sent me. I got the free vista upgrade recently when I bought my laptop and the first time I installed it was awful. My system locked up and kept messing up. I contacted dell and they reset my system. I then downloaded it again and it has worked great ever since.
Apparently, the first time it didn't work was because of OE--Operator Error
