PC Repair Help

So my desktop at work wasnt keeping the correct time. So I called the help desk and submitted a ticket for it. I tell them just send me a CMOS battery I'll take care of it. Well to make a long story short. I'm stalling this yester day and the little clip on top that keeps pressure on the battery breaks off. I'm like damn I guess I'll put the new battery in and hope for the best. No luck my clock wont keep time worth a damn now. I dont want to call in another ticket to spare my pride and probably some lecture from tech support blah blah blah. My question is what can I do?? can I just tape that bad boy down?? Need something, the clock is messing up my e-mails, when I send my last E-mail for the night my boss is thinking I'm leaving the office hella early. Help A+ people here???

I assume it's a laptop. You can't just keep it plugged in with the power adapter without the battery? Your computer has been updated to reflect the DST changes this year, correct?

If anything, you might just have to call your IT department again.

tape it. it wont hurt anything. just dont use too much. try to tape it to the part that holds the battery rather than the motherboard. if you have tape it to part of the motherboard thats fine but do it the least possible.

The Patch has been installed, the problem I have is the battery doesnt have any pressure on it to make contact with the MB. I tried taping it but thats not doing anything. Now my time wont keep up at all. I guess I'll just have to suck it up and call my tech support and come up with a BS sorry. The only other thing I can think of is to put some type of weight in there to push down on the battery so it will stay seated on the MB
