if you look at the side of the phone were the 2 pieces meet there is a line blow air into there and it should clear up.. Take the battery off so it doesn't pop....

A lot of things that are not true were said here. First of all if you get any part of a phone wet it will not damage all components. My razor fell off my desk into a glass of water While I was sleeping, and the only thing that doesn't work is the LCD (I have my girlfriends phone number written with a sharpie on the inside).
Additionally, for any wet electronic, I suggest leaving it turned off as taken apart as you can get it for at least 3 days. Especially if their is water under the LCD it may take a LONG time to get out. But some of this depends on your areas humidity Also beware, I had insurance on my phone but canceled it. Verizon uses some other company called experian or something like that. And I had the Charcoal with a silver key pad phone, the only one that they had was the silver with a black keypad, which looked so ridiculously *** and cost $50 in deductible that I canceled the insurance. Also, that is all I have to say. |

yeah the Razr's do suck. You can't even get them wet. Geez... they suck dirty goat balls. F you Motorola and you're "please don't get our electronics wet" theories. F you all.

Pop the battery out and put it in the fridge overnight. Sounds weird, but because of how a fridge works, it has a natural tendency to suck the moisture out of just about anything. Take it out the next morning, let it sit at room temperature for a couple hours and try it again. Im notorious for washing my cellphone or dropping it in the shower\sink and ive saved probably half a dozen with this method.

Yeah, you should do something along the lines of this. Motorola's are pieces of sh!t without a doubt. On the other hand, I've been through about 4 lg's and every single one of them was a damn trooper. One of them got kicked down 2 flights of stairs and then stepped on and still worked perfectly. Let's see a razr pull that one off. :P Also, whoever said that verizon won't replace a phone that has been water damaged.. this is just not true. A friend of mine put my lg vx7000 in a cupholder on out golf cart one day not realising(sp) that it was completely full of water. I didn't realise it for about 4 holes so there was no saving that phone. I called verizon (from my house phone ) and told them what happened and they replaced it the next day. When I had my first lg vx9800 (first gen enV) I got mad and threw it on the ground.. Called up verizon and told them I dropped it, replaced it under warranty. :shrugs: |

the best way to displace water from a phone (the phone is prolly toast anyway) is to take out the battery, and dump 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol on it.. we are talking from head to toe (of the phone) When a customer comes in with water dmg, I take a part the whole phone and scrub off all the corrosion after I do a quick alcohol soak. If you ever get your phone wet, immediately take the battery out to prevent shorts. If you can get to a bottle of isopropyl alcohol (NOT THE RUBBING ALCOHOL) Dump it on the phone. When I say dump it, I mean like the whole bottle than let dry. This is kinda like the Hyperdermic Needle in the heart to save yo azz from bio warfare kinda stuff in relation to cell phones. Isopropyl alcohol (99.9%) is non conductive, non corrosive and displaces water. A godsend for anything electronic that is wet.
