i cant send a link cuz it requires a username and password to access the site

but the pdf's are like this, i can download the first pdf file which contains the table of contents for the whole book and the first chapter.
when i click on a hotspot to go to lets say chapter 5 it is linked to a different pdf file on the server.
i can access the whole book fine if i view it in my browser but if i download it the rest of the files dont get downloaded with the first pdf so i get file not found error.

the first pdf file is the only one with a direct link to it

Thats odd. When viewing the initial PDF via the web browser Adobe Reader plugin click on a link to Chapter 5. Does it open Chapter 5 in another browser plugin window or 'overtop' of the initial PDF? Also does the URL change, i.e. from uni-intranet/chem/chap1.pdf to uni-intranet/chem/chap5.pdf? If it does change then theoretically all you need to do is select File/Save As and save it to your hard drive....theoretically ;-)

they dont open in the browser
the address is weird
http://www.examplewebsiteaddress.net...ntals+P1%2Epdf
if i do save target as on it the file that gets saved is a *.asp file
however if i just click it normally it downloads the pdf file but all the links in the pdf file dont work since its not on the server anymore.

I'm still not sure...couldn't you just go to every link...click it and then save...would be extremely time consuming...but that might work...
