flOw

So to everyone who has a PS3 anyone seen the trailer for the downloadable game flOw? 1080p THX certified, this game has gotten me really excited. And sadly I'm still on campus right now for another 2 hours but I've been reading the PS3 boards where people have already been playing it. AH!

After playing this for the last 3 hours. I highly suggest this game to anyone with a PS3 and $8.

Yeah that's pretty much it. It's a really simple game and that's what is great about it. There is no button pushing, you use the motion control for everything and after 5 minutes you don't even have to think about it anymore. The music and colors are supposed to have some sort of calming properties too, it's great to just sit down and relax. If it was $60 like a regular game then yeah, it would be pretty bad. But for $8 it's great.

How much gameplay can you get out of it before it becomes boring? I'm also thinking about picking up Blast Factor. It could be fun for awhile.

It took me a little over 3 hours to beat the game. So far it's still interesting, I played it again for about 3 hours total yesterday. IDK I love it, I have horrible attention problems too and I can still sit there and just swim around eating amoebas.

That's the flash version of it, use the mouse to move around and left click does the speed boost. The controls on the PS3 are motion control and any button does the speed boost.

If you can stand playing/like the flash version then you'll like the PS3 one. The graphics and music are 10x better in the PS3 version and really add to the calming effect of the game.

I tried the Blast Factor demo, looks kinda interesting, I didn't really like it that much though.

Also, a difference from the flash version (I think I haven't gotten through it enough), in the PS3 version there are 5 different creatures, you have to unlock them as you go but once you beat it the first time you can start the game as any of them. Each have their own look, special ability and the background colors. On average I think each level is about 20-30 minutes if you really try to get everything. After I beat it usually I just turn it on pick one of the things play through the level, that's usually not enough for me so I'll do a different one after and then I'll take a break.

Hmm, I really can't decide! Is it hard at all or very simple?

It's such a crappy town, but it's close to a lot of others so that kinda makes up for it.

It's pretty simple. The levels are broken down by the creature you're playing with. Each level is probably about 20 different "levels" too. You're constantly swimming down by eating the red amoebas and the blue ones bring you back up. once you get about 1/3 through each of the levels things will start attacking you. Towards the end they can get pretty tough or take some planning. On you and the things you have to kill there are glowing circles along your body, each represents part of your health. You have to eat all of them off the other thing to kill it, and if you loose all yours you "die." Which just means you get knocked back up one level as if you ate a blue amoeba, and you only have 1 of the life circles. So if you die you don't start completely over but you are penalized for it. Aside from that, it's about as hard as that flash version, except you'll need to give yourself 5-10 minutes to get the learned curve of using the motion control.
