Free FON Router: 1 Year Anniversary

Hey guys, for those of you who want freebies, here's one for you.

FON is one of the largest wifi communities in the world. It's basically like this, when you have one of their routers you share your internet connection with other FON users no matter what. This won't make your internet connection fast, this only gives you more hot spots since all FON users can use each other's internet connection. However if you are just sharing a 56k connection and you found a 10mbps connection hotspot from another FON user then you're in luck.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you guys figure it out anyway. FON is celebrating it's 1 year anniversary so they're giving away 10,000 routers for free. Just sign up (Like in a forum). No CC info, No SS info...basically it's just a forum sign up.

If you are a paranoid freak, they will be asking for your address and telephone number. What I did was have them sent it to my business address together with my business telephone. So there you go. Get this one and please if you're not going to share your connection with other FON users, don't even bother getting this freebie or get it and give it to a friend who will share his connection.

What do you mean? It's available in the US, or did it say that they ran out already? Canada got 2,000 units.

Thanks for the heads up. I got mine. Checked out the website and read a little more about it; still unsure if I really wanna hook it up, but a free router is a pretty good deal. If I don't use it, I can always give it to someone.
