Both.

But they're both Compaq/ HP's, so they give me a lot of hell.

I prefer using a desktop, keyboard is easier to use...I dunno.

But the flexibility of having a laptop is always nice.

Both..! We own two HTPC, a desktop and a laptop! If I have access to a desktop, it is my first choice. Laptop is great for traveling, but around the house desktop gets the most uses!

The HTPC is connecting to the 56 inches HDTV and another one connects to the 32 inches HDTVs. It is mainly use for record the shows and playback movies. Both HTPC included wireless remote and keyboard. It is connect to wired and wireless network. Video and audio files can be transferred through wireless network.

The laptop is mostly use for travel or in the back and front patio. It is connecting to the wireless network through Belkin Pre-n adapter.

Upstairs desktop is connecting to the wireless network through Belkin Pre-n adapter mostly use for surfing the net and office works!

I don't considered Xbox 360 and its HD-DVD add-on as a PC, but it connects to the Belkin router through CAT5. It is use for HD games and playback HD movies. It is control by wireless remote control and wireless game controllers

Both. Depends on the purpose. Business and work stuff (definitely different things, as I hold down a somewhat part-time job while consulting for clients).

I've turned a desktop into a file server/DNS/firewall watchdog on home network, and use another desktop for games only (serious games that push framerate performance but aren't RPGs). Older gaming desktops end up as machines for my GF or gaming servers. *shrug* Absolutely no office apps on the gaming machine...but that doesn't stop from adding any games to the work laptop...

I used to swear by desktops, but I bought a laptop a little bit over a year ago and I love it.

I have it on a laptop stand

and then I have a wireless key board and wireless optical mouse. I feel like I have a desktop at the desk, but I can easily grab the laptop and take off with it, if need be.

I use both a desktop and a laptop. I love being able to surf from my bed. I do prefer the laptop a bit more though. I used to be all anti-laptop till I got one. I don't game or run anything computer intensive, so laptops are great!
