new game system?

I want to go out this weekend and get a new game system. I have an xbox and ps2 right now.

Should I get a PS3
or
XBOX 360 with the HD dvd upgrade.

I really don't know the diff but want to use something with my HD TV. My TV does 1080P and dont know what system will use that.

So how about some advice, please

well i guess you can ask just about anything here. ps3 has bluray disk playing capability. it is better than the HD DVD which is on xbox. i like the xbox menu better tho, it is much more interactive, xbox live will cost you $50 a year but it is, again, more interactive and has more features. the 60GB ps3 has a wirless online feature, you dont need wires or need to buy a wirless gaming router. you do need one for the xbox. then it comes to the games you want to play. graphics are great on both systems. most people would go with the xbox first because of the halo game comin out, i dont kno wut big games are comin out for ps3... uh, yea those are my thoughts.

well let me ask you this, will you be using your system more for watching high def movies, or more for playing games. If you are looking for a system with the games the obvious choice is the 360. The ps3 only has one blockbuster title right now and that is the way it is going to be for a few more months. There are some good games coming out later in the year for the ps3, but not much to choose from right now. The 360 has a bunch of great titles already out and more to come.

Now if you are going to use it for the movies, it is kinda a toss up. The 360 hd dvd drive is only able to output 1080p when you have it connected with a vga cable, and a lot of people complain that the colors looked washed out even. You can connect it via component cables and the max resolution it will out put is 1080i, which is the way i have it and it looks great.

The ps3 you can hook up via hdmi cable for 1080p output, i have my ps3 hooked up with a hdmi cable and I honestly cant see much, if any, diffrence in picture quality between hdmi and component, though i know the hdmi is better.

There are only a couple of games that are out that can produce a true 1080p picture, most have a max resolution of 720p/1080i.

So basically I recomend the 360, it has the best selection of software out right now and it will for awhile, that is not to knock the ps3 right now, it has a lot of potential it's just not showing it yet.

I have the hd dvd drive on my 360, and I have the ps3. Movies look awesome on both systems.
