Thumbs down Norton Anti-virus issue

So, today I go back to my machine and I get a message that Norton AV "has been tampered with". It said to unisnstall and reinstall (which I did) and it seems all good now. I'm just worried about this as your AV software is the last thing that you want messed with...

Anyone else ever had this happed/heard of this?

I had a huge problem with my norton not working.

My dad and i used the "livehelp" feature and the person working reset the account and checked everything out for us.

Then walked us through fixing it and were super helpful. Id say use it and just ask the question/make sure all is well with your acct.

Thanks bro, but it's fixed. I just wanted to know if anyone else encountered a similar problem...just seems odd...and kinda scary...

I've had numerous problems with Norton Antivirus.. I switched to Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition and haven't had too many issues since. Much less use of resources, too...

Symantec makes Norton, they are the same company.

Panda and AVG are very good solutions as well.

Windows Live OneCare does a good job...and for the $50.00 fee it can be used on three difefrent computers. It is easy on system resources and fairly unobtrusive. I use it at home for our family rigs.

I had a Norton AV for awhile and didn't really have a problem with it. Only thing that bothered me is that I had to "allow" my computer to use apps (then "learning mode" came along). I eventually deleted it because it was a resource hog.

Moved on to NOD32 and I've never been happier. It's always updating it's virus database so that always gives me peace of mind. Plus, it barely uses any resources (26MB of RAM)
