ps3 memory?
i been wanting to buy a ps3 but cant decide which one to buy the 20gb or the 60gb. the only difference between the both is for the 60 gb you get:
1.Crome Strip (which i could care less about) 2.Wi-fi (i dont need cause i have cable) 3.Memory Slots (you can just transfer stuff using usb connection) 4.More mem (this is what im worried about) basically my question is (for those who have a ps3) on average how much room does saving a game use up? or downloads (demos) take up? since i dont plan on using it for anything else than playing games or watching bluray. i dont need that much room. |

I haven't seen any game saves over a MB, all of my games are about 500kb or less. Fight Night Round 3 is 136kb. Game demos usually have been ranging from 400-900mb. Most of which you'll end up deleting anyways because a lot hold little to no replay value. Much of your reasons for not wanting the 60gb were my reasons for buying the 20gb. I had a premium 360 last year with the 20gb hdd and with tons of demos music and movie trailers I'd barely phase it. The chrome trim looks nice but that's all it does. If I'm going to be playing the games online I'd much rather a stronger and more reliable wired connection to the internet. And I can't see myself ever needing to use the memory card slots that come with the 60gb version either. Both systems come with composite cables too, so either way you're stuck without HD right out of the box unlike the premium 360 coming with component and composite cables.
If you have tons of money floating around I'd say just go the extra mile but I was much happier spending the same amount of money and getting a game and blu-ray movie. |

There's one other bigger, not so much difference, but issue between the two. If you have a PSP and you want to use the interconnect ability you'll need the 60gb model and it's wi-fi. Downloading PS1 games from the PS Store required a memory stick pro duo, not sure if you can hook up a memory card reader to one of the USB ports to accomplish this or not. Also, apparently you can use your PSP as the screen for the PS3, it's done so through the wi-fi.
