Camera Recommendations?

I need to pick up a new camera for the meet in January.

Can anyone recommend a good digital 6MP+ camera preferably under the 200 dollar mark?

PS- im not looking for a really portable stash-in-your-pocket camera, my last camera was a 6MP slim line model, and its picture quality was shoddy.

are these recommends based off of quality or value? i had the Kodak Easyshare 630 6MP before it was stolen, and it took the crappiest pix, id have to try like 3-4 times to get a decent picture. not to mention the settings take a day and a half to access.

also, im looking for something that has more control over focus/zoom besides just a [W<->T] button. Something more... pro? Without diving into the SLR category. Jesus those are expensive.

PS- what i meant by more pro, was being able to upgrade lenses, or use wide/fish angle lenses.

Dell has the Canon SD600 6.0 megapixel camera for only $210, with free shipping.
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...9&sku=A0620516

If you can wait until Wednesday to order it, Dell usually issues stackable coupons on Wednesdays to bring the price down even further. You can find the stackable coupon codes at techbargains.com. Try searching for Dell or Canon SD600 at the site. It's not guaranteed that the coupons would work on this particular camera, though.

Don't forget that Rebel XT you found doesn't come with a lense.

I wish newegg still had the sale on A630's. I picked two up when they were only $230 with 1 gig cards. It is the camera that is responsible for all of atruhondagrl's fabulous pictures.

Take a look here:

http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_cameras.html

Probably the best site around for reviews and solid information.
