I haven't played it (or even seen one), but from all the real world accounts I've heard and read, it's very entertaining. From what I understand, the graphics are the same as the GameCube, but the interaction is completely different.

How bad are the graphics on a hi def tv? Is this to say the Wii is better suited for games that are more cartoonish rather than trying to reach photo realistic quality (like the PS3 & XB360)? BTW: Here's a link ( http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/200...shoulder-pain/) to prevent throwing out your shoulder while playing on the Wii. |

I've had my Wii since launch and love it! As Mikey6p said, the graphics are closer to the original XBox, however, with the new gameplay mechanics, graphics can take a backseat for now. If you have a hi-def TV, I recommend the component cables (backordered until mid-December), even though the Wii will only output to 480p.
Also, like Accord2si said, it's fun for the whole family; I brought it over to my grandma's house for the old "Thanksgiving test" and everyone loved it; logged in a few hours of Wii Sports Bowling and Trauma Center with my cousins. The Mii channel is great and the Wii Message Board is also cool, allowing you to leave memos or keep track of your playing time for the day. It also helps me send messages and Mii's to all the people here on 8th that have one. If you're still skeptical, try to find a friend that has one and test it out to see if it's for you. |

I have a 27 inch "regular" tv in my room... The wii looks great on it. I was not able to justify buying a new tv just so i could get the most out of a 360 or ps3, so I went with the wii. It suits my needs perfectly. Anybody know when they are releasing the web browser?

I have a 32" HD-LCD TV I'm running the Wii on.........looks great actually. Surpassed my expectations for image quality coming out of the composite yellow cable.
Anyways, LOTS of fun........Wii Sports is a great pack in game, play it all the time. Everyone loves playing bowling even if they don't like video games. I also have Zelda.......first couple hours were slow (introduction), but at about 2 hours, the game starts getting interesting and some cool stuff starts to happen. Graphics are on par with original XBox (I own one), the graphic power of the Wii is about double the Gamecube. The Mii channel has surpassed my expectations as I wasn't excited about it, but now I'm in there every day editing, and creating characters. I've owned the system for 4 days, and put in 25+ hours of play time so far. So I'd say I'm having fun :) (I don't even play many games anymore.......cept for Gears of War at my buddie's house). The best thing about Wii IMO is that online play is FREE, and the Wii has built in wireless connectivity. You don't need to subscribe to Xbox Live or anything. I was considering getting a 360 instead.........but I didn't wanna pay for the live service (or the wifi card for the 360). Last edited by Avenger; 11-27-2006 at 02:23 PM. |

it is wiilly fun
LOL anyways yeah its an awesome machine for the value 300 for the wii compared to 700 for the ps3 although, there will be different views and many people are expecting gaming consoles to jump to the next level with graphics. like a previous poster said, graphics can take a backseat this run cause the gameplay and interaction with the games are unbelievable. one of the wii producers said that the wii is totally different because gaming systems are getting too complicated. i agree, and with the wii... complication is now simple. zelda is one of the most amazing games i've ever played and the story and puzzles are unbelievable. im about 16 hours in and barely got knee deep into the game and already the story is having many conflicts. the wii is wiilly awesome. go for it. |

Looks like you guys convinced me to open up one of my systems. I ended up with 10 of them (8 at launch) then added 2 more a few days ago. I've sold 9 of them and I was gonna sell this one off, but I figured it's already paid for itself so might as well enjoy it.
