Did you obtain all of your songs from the itunes store? If not, you may be best off transferring the files between the two computers, and I can most certainly provide a bit of help with that. If you got them from the itunes store, it can be done, but it's a bit trickier.

Here's a way to quickly get files off a PC iPod without any extra software.
1. Plug in your iPod.
2. From the Desktop, go to My Computer and find the iPod (usually designated by a drive letter. i e. E: or F:)
3. Open the damn thing.
4. Go to Tools > Folder Options > View (the tab) > scroll to Show Hidden Files and Folders and click it.
5. Click OK
6. Go back to your iPod folder/drive, there you will find a new folder called iPod_Control
7. Open it.
8. The Music folder in it will have a bunch of folders named F00, F01 and so on. THEY HAVE YOUR MP3s. Look through the folders to find your stuff.

also the files will be in little code words..not the actual titles...once you transfer them to itunes player on your computer they will have all the information

That definitely does work and will be your quickest bet. You may find that your file names get mangled in the process however.

Do you have a router that you could plug both PCs into?

Transferring the songs over a network or even through burning CDs would be the fastest and most efficient way. Otherwise, you'll have fun renaming all those garbled iPod file names. :)

There are a few programs, the names escape me right now, that allow you to upload the MP3's from an iPod onto a computer, or vice versa.

I've never heard of the method listed above, but I very may well do that when I reformat my hard-drive next month.

Winamp + the ml_ipod plugin will let you upload songs from an iPod to a computer. It'll also let you get rid of the mangled abortion that is iTunes, as long as you don't use ITMS and the DRM-infected craptitude that are the songs available on it.

well, i found out a quick solution to all this, I'm just going to use a flash drive and drag all my songs in there, then upload them onto my new comp. All I need now is a flash drive.....
