Help formatting my Xbox 360 Hard drive

So I bought a hard drive off a guy on craigslist. It is a Fujitsu MHZ2320BH G2 ATA drive. He made it with a hard drive shell and looks like I should just be able to snap it on my 360 and be working. He said it was an unformatted drive and needed to be formatted for use with a 360. So I bought the data transfer kit from Microsoft so I could connect it to my computer and format it accordingly. My question is how do I format it or flash it so that my 360 recognizes it? I have seen the tutorial that tells you how to take apart your old hard drive and replace it with a larger hard drive, but this one is already assembled and ready to go. A little help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to use a hacking program. If Microsoft sees it, which they can, they'll permanently ban your system. If you play alot of online games, it's easier to detect but if you don't, you should be fine. They'll definitely see it if you have to send your system in for repairs. Just looking out.

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showforum=166 Start researching before you make the move. Some people are running 1TB HD on their Xbox 360. It isn't that hard I just thought you should know of the possible consequences before hand.

Usually the HDDHackr has only been working with a few Samsung and Toshiba drives. It works primarily with Western Digital. Edit: Looks like the HDDHackr only works with WD drives..
Xplorer360 should work with your drive I just don't know if the HDDHackr will.

Well I used Wal-Mart to "exchange" my non-working hard drive for a OEM Microsoft one! Gotta love the lack of attention people working the return center have

For future reference, Microsoft basically "banned" unlicensed hard drives in the latest dashboard update. Major Nelson mentioned this on his website a while ago. Microsoft wants their money and what better way than on an overpriced hard drive?

Ha nice work. I just sucked it up over Christmas and bought the 120GB HDD from Microsoft. I'd like more storage but that's okay. Mainly, I'd like a faster drive. IIRC the 360 HDD's are only 5400rpm.
