Own a Mac? Get Adium.
I've been using this program for about a year now and it is the best chat program ever. Yes, ever. It destroys everything out there and then some. PC users can only wish they had it (I know I wish I could put it on mine)
www.adiumx.com Supports a ton of clients, fully customizable, lots of great features, and easy to use. Seriously, if you have a mac you really need to get this program. You won't regret it. EDIT: Don't forget to check out http://www.adiumxtras.com/ Lots of really cool add ons! Be sure to explore around a bit. _

BLU, what crawled up your ass? Sheesh. News flash, EVERYONE uses chat programs.
Oh, and if I see that video one more time I'll snap. The only people that post it are PC fanatics because they assume it is all true because they have no idea. (Seriously) Too bad it is all either B.S. or concerns rare "flaws" in the now ancient OS9 (just about all of which Windows shares) which I would have taken any day over the Windows of the time. I think I'll make a video about the flaws in Windows 95 and Me and post it so all mac users can watch it and think, "Yeah! That is how all modern PC's are! I am now an expert on why they suck because I've totally watched a 3 minute video!" I have a shit ton of experience on both OS's and I can say I only use my PC when I want to play games or use my totally not pirated copy of Final Draft. My mac is for when I actually want get anything else done. Unless you use a mac and have constructive criticism you submit to Apple(who does listen and gives a damn, BTW), drop it. You are not funny and not witty by bashing something you know nothing about. |

"I run MacOS on XP... so I guess my wish has come true?"
How? Via an emulator? There are no versions of XP that "run Mac OS" You can, however, install Windows on the new Intel-based Macs, and boot to either Mac OS or XP. But not the other way around. Unless you're doing it via emulation. What emulation programs allow you to install Mac OS on a pc? Just curious. |

I build PC's so yeah, in terms of power, you can get more bang for your buck with a custom built pc. But we weren't talking about power and I definitely would not recommend building a pc to 99% of people. I enjoy it because I like troubleshooting electronics and computers and it's fun to tear them apart and put them back together for me, but I also like having a computer I don't have to worry about and is really a dream to use.
Though it should be known the new macs aren't slouches. They are competitive with prebuilt PC's in terms of price. Now if Apple went third party with OSX, that would raise my eyebrow. Anyhow back on topic... How is everyone enjoying Adium? Be sure to mess with the appearance settings ando go to http://www.adiumxtras.com/ Soundsets, window styles, useful and fun scripts, lots of cool stuff. All pretty easy to install and use. |

"ff topic .. will apple be using the new quad core intel processors?"
Intel probably has it in the pipeline for the next generation of Intel Powermacs. The new Powermac Xenon workstations are already fast, powerful, and expensive. The new MacBook Pros just got a speed bump, now running Intel Duo 2 chips. What computers are running Quad Core Intel processors now? I'm curious what machines they're being built into. |

Clovertown is seen as the best canidate for the next Mac Pro as it could actually work with the current architecture (infact it is rumored current dual dualcore owners could upgrade to quadcores) Plus the new quadcores can match the current Mac Pro's FSB. Tulsa and Kentsfield are out for pretty obvious technical reasons (esp because they're power hungry bastards) and it isn't expected Mac Pros will use server chips. |

And this whole mac vs pc thing is rediculous....
If your a hardcore gamer and ONLY a gamer, get the PC. If your anything else, Mac owns all! Ive used both and own both but i could not function without my mac...for internet, video and photo editing, graphics, and other day to day computing needs, they are just better. Easier to use, much easier to navigate and is far more user friendly, no unexpected errors in the middle of doing something important....yada yada yada... |

Mac's are ***. PC's are too. Both are stupid fancy caluclators with nice LCD screens instead of LED's. Most users just browse the internet anyways. Window wins for ease of use when browsing the net as does PC computers. Its simple - there are two mouse buttons. Apple just wishes they could "just" finally throw in the towel and have two buttons.
In the past 10 years my imediate family has owned the following machines: Apple LC520 - nothing wrong, just slow HP Pavillian 8555C - generally good for its time, started to die after 4-5 yrs, doesnt work now. Dell Inpsiron 7000 - machine worked great - finally died in 05 Dell Inspiron 8000 - machine died early got a replacement Dell Inspiron 8100 - replaced every part just like the pred. sucked shit Apple G3 - replaced many parts - service ppl didn't know how to fix, OS probs Apple G4 - replaced many parts - reinstalled OS many many times, service ppl didn't know shit Sony A150 -worked really fast, only one screen problem, still in use Dell 6400 Core Duo - works fast, no replacement problems (have 2 of them) Sony SZ220P - works extremely fast, no problems, :) Apple Powermac Pro Core Duo - already had motherboard problems, had to be serviced for more than a month, OS problems etc. So while this is off topic, My imediate family has owned numerous computers in the past few years (this isn't even counting everyones actually - more sony, hp, comq, ibm latops all working fine), not to mention the 100s of others I've used. Though they all have problems, Mac has has more per capita than the PCs. |
