T-Mobile's G1 aka HTC Dream aka G-Phone

My co-worker has been ranting on and on about it how its supposed to be better than the i-phone. I'm a loyal t-mobile customer and I've played with the i-phone and I'm not too big on the touch screen keyboard... big thumbs ftl....

My sk3 is acting up on me and I'm pretty much ready to get a new phone. I pretty much use my phone for txt/browsing the internet/email for the most part.

$200 w/ 2 year contract $35/ month w/ unlimited browsing and txt... sounds pretty good to me.

Other things I've read:

3G compatible
Full QWERTY keyboard
touch screen
3.0megapixel camera
full html browsing
video play back but no recording. i could careless about recording
integrated software for all of google's tools

I'm pretty sure existing customers are going to get a discount on the phone as well. Has anyone else been watching for this phone's release?

Supposedly preorders for existing customers has already started, but it goes for sale in October.

I was trying to find info on this phone....it looks awesome...but I couldn't find much on it.

My contract is up in November, I'm looking around at phones too.

HTC Dream = Drool!

HTC Touch Pro is also nice, but it isn't a Dream....

Keyboard looks like a hassle to just go out an type on. Certainly not with one hand.

BB FTW

I've had a sidekick for a little over 2 years now. typing with two hands is second nature to me I prefer it actually since I txt so much.

Well bb's are even faster with two hands, but if you get used to the keyboard that's okay too.

Never actually owned a BB. I can't say much .. but i just never liked the look of them. If my job would give me one for work instead of a crappy sprint flip phone........ lol

woot.. its available for existing t-mobile customers to upgrade for $179.. of course with the upgrade fee its $200 anyway but who cares.

3G will be available for most major cities by Oct. 22 which is when I should receive the phone if I were to preorder it.

3G data plan required on purchase.

$25/month for unlimited data but only 400msg per month
$35/month for unlimited data and msgs

Looks like I'll be getting this phone. I have 2 phones and its been a p.i.t.a carrying them around. I did that because the sk3 sucks when it comes to using it as an actual cell phone which is why i carried a small flip phone with me.

I'll be paying around the same per month if I were to get the G1 but if its all that its cracked up to be... It's well worth it.

Only colors I saw available for it currently thru T-Mobile are Black and Brown. Def. getting black
