Attn: T-Mobile Customers!

What phone do you have? I just recently found out my contract has ENDED today and I have no more cellphone, lol. I'm looking at their website and I'm undecided. I know what plan I want but the phone, I'm not sure.

I just want a simple nice phone that is small and sturdy (because I'm known for dropping my phones sometimes), where I can DL MP3 ringtones, a nice camera phone along with a good ol' picture/text messaging. Any recommendations is appreciated in advance! Mucho gracias!

That's a kind offer but what I had before was Cingular and I really didn't like Cingular at all. Thanks though. =)

I'm looking into the Samsung SGH-T609. It looks pretty decent and I'm this close to just getting whatever right now. I really need a phone.

I don't understand...I am T-Mobile as well...and just because yuor contract ends does not mean you have no more cell phone. Your contract goes into a month-to-month status. U keep using and they keep billing.

I don't know really because the phone was under my parents name and they were paying for it. I didn't have T-Mobile, I had Cingular. Well from what my dad told me, he had a 2 year contract with Cingular. He said that it was ending up this month (which I totally forgot about when he told me) and he told them once their contract ends this month, he wants to cancel the service.

Apparently, they did it. I have no service on my phone and my phone is disconnected.

I would want to cancel Cingular also. My parents were on it and I had them switched over to T-Mobile. I've been with T-Mobile for at least 5 years and it's great connections, and awesome Customer Service.

If you drop your phone a lot I suggest getting a Nokia phone. I've also had tons of Nokias and a Samsung and Motorola. I can't say anything negative about those other phones but Nokia is awesome. I'm notorious for drop (or nearly throwing my phone) when getting out of a car, or standing up, or doing whatever. Nokia's have never broken on me. I used to work for them also in the manufacturing plant and it's a solid phone.

I'm a die hard T-Mobile and Nokia user.

P.S. - The best phones are sold in Europe. Just ask if you have questions about that.

Yeah, I had the worst service ever when it came to Cingular. No one could hear me on my phone in my old apartment or at my parents house. I was lucky if someone could have a convo without my phone breaking up.

I'm looking up phone reviews and so far I'm set on the Samsung SGH-T609 but I want to hear more reviews from other people. Nokia is a good durable phone but nah. I had Motorola for awhile and I'm starting to get tired of Motorola. My boyfriend has the Samsung t809 though but I'm not content with his phone.

Check out wirelessimports.com for unlocked phones. They're kind of expensive because they are the price of an unsubsidized phone, but you can choose from a wider assortment. They have some phones that are only found in Europe and Asia as well. Just make sure the phone you're checking out uses one of T-Mo's GSM frequencies.

I'm toying with the idea of going with T-Mo's prepaid service. Right now I'm on Stinkular's $39.99 plan, but with taxes and sh!t, the monthly comes out to around $50. I really only use 250 minutes per month on average, so going with the prepaid plan seems like the best deal for me. I picked up an unlocked Moto SLVR L7/V8, so all I would need to do is slip in T-Mo's SIM card and voila!

Check it out. It's awesome for research. Although it doesn't list the T609. Strange.

I looked up the T609 specs on another website and they are respectable. I also like going to http://myworldphone.com for purchases.

That's awesome! Thanks for the link! I wouldn't mind getting an unlocked phone but I'm just needing a cellphone that works right now, lol. I know getting an unlocked phone is more expensive though.

I agree with above. Samsung phones are always better than the competition... so many more options and a cooler interface. I got a new t809 when my contract went out for like 150$ at costco + free case and car kit. Then it got jacked by some cracked out mexican. It was an awesome phone while it lasted though for sure.

I like Cingular. In California, their service is great. I barely have dropped calls, and TMobile is actually the worst out here. All my friends constantly complain about not being able to even make a call. They cant get through. In big cities, Cingular and Verizon dominate. Plus, Cingular is run by Cubans. :)

I'd highly recommend verizon wireless, even though I'm on cingular. They have the highest ratings in all major cities and are the only ones that have service in the mountains whenever I go to church camps.. they also have a nice samsung .. its the red one for 150 which has a mp3 player, and I want to get once my contract is up :]...

but, if you choose to stay with t-mobile, I recommend getting the samsung t309 or the other samsung... depending on what you want :].. hope you take my post into deep consideration
