Best place to buy the D40/D40x

So far I've been looking on ebay and it looks like $460 shipped will get me a new D40, the 18-55 (I've heard is crappy?) lense, cleaner, case, battery, charger, two tripods, yada yada. Good deal, should I buy somewhere else? I went to BB here and the camera is over $600 with no accessories.

Also, other than it taking up more memory for pictures, is there really much of a reason to NOT get the D40x instead of the D40? And while I have this thread up.. does anyone have any good photoshop tutorials for enhancing pics? I realize most of the good pics on here have gone through a lot of editing, and I have a full version of photoshop (thank you cheap college prices :) ) so I'd like to give that a try also.

Not sure if my info would help but I got my D40 with kit lense for $405 shipped. I also bought a tripod for $6.

^^ A link would be cool if you have one. Was it brand new? The only ones I could find for that price were refurbs, which I can't buy.

Yea, mine was refurb and I got it on ebay. I don't see anything wrong with refurb... it's still got the warrenty haha.

Yeah, I don't really think there's anything wrong with them, I'm just a paranoid person and I know mine would break literally two weeks after the warranty was up.
