what kind of comp and what kind of tv???

you can use a VGA to VGA cable if your tv has a VGA port or you can use a video to video cable if you have a decent video card in the comp.

this could help you also:

HDMI is the best quality going from PC to TV but your TV has to have that input of course

I always heard them called RCA cables. They have the metal sleeve around a smooth, protuding plug and usually come in red, white, and yellow for video and two audio channels.

These same RCA cables come in red, green and blue now also for video only connections from DVD players.

As stated above, HDMI is the best, though.

well, what does your computer have for outputs? If it has an S-video out, then you need an S-video cable

Is it a desktop? Laptop? It only has a 15-pin VGA output that you use for computer monitors, correct?

Here are your options.

You can get an adaptor box that converts VGA to composite/s-video or buy a graphics card that already has an S-video out. You still need to pickup the cables as well.

The video card will probably be cheaper.

I found this though

Amazon.com: Premium VGA to RCA Component Cable M / M, 25 ft / 7.62m Black: Electronics

Will that not work?

That is for component video, which is for HDTV's. Do you have an HDTV?

Is your computer's GPU slot PCI-E or AGP based?

Also exactly what video outputs does your computer have, and exactly what video inputs does the TV have.

If you are not familiar, refer to these images...

You'll be able to get one for under $30 for sure if you don't game.

You will still need to get an audio cable too if you want sound: Y-cable, mini RCA to RCA. Like $5 at Best Buy

There aren't any cables that do VGA to composite because there is some conversion that needs to be done, which requires some processing.

The processing needs to be done in the card itself or in an external unit.

A video card is your best/cheapest option. What is the make and model of your computer?
