It was easier than I thought! Can't believe I almost payed to get this done, I just wish I had an air compressor to make the job easier. I had my wife help out. All together it took about 4 hours. Can't wait to take her for spin, the car that is.

I have worked on a lot of cars, and I feel really stupid for not figuring this one out.
this is going to be funny but what worked for me a socket 17mm, vise grips and an allen wrench.

Im sure this is a tool for this, but this was very helpful for me. I put the socket on the nut and used the visegrips to turn it then put the allen wrench through the adapter hole.

hope this helps.

Also keep in mind that the nut is a lock nut, which means it's twice as hard to remove than a regular nut.

Good retro fix. Also Lowes (and other hardware stores) carries socket sets where the sockets have holes all the way through and a closed end rachet wrench fits over the top. Would be perfect for this job. I have done 2 sets so far and what I did was set a 2X4 on the ground and brace 2 of the top bolts on it and put a foot on it so the assembly is stable. I then first break the seal with the allen I than can usually get the nut off with a standard socket set. This is usually the longest part of the install and nothing about it is easy though.

Looks like you have had the pro kit on for a while now. Have you seen any negative effects by not cutting the bump stop?

Curious as to the bump stop. I cruise a flat eway 99% of the time so I'm thinking I'm not super concerned with them.

Thx, let me know if you have any issues with yours. With I noticed a popping sound at low speed. I've taken it to the dealer ship and as soon as they found out I installed aftermarket springs they said thats the problem so now I'm saving money to take it to a mech. to see if they can figure out what the problem is. Not to scare or anything because it seems to be a common problem with the civics 06-08 as I read a thread on here.

hey so you guys are only doing the springs set up and not the whole coilover set up? I mean yea it looks really nice but arent the shocks gonna blow out after a year or so? Im considering paying the $600-700 setup of the skunk2 full coilover system. Its called the pro-s, has anyone heard and reviews on it or anything like that?
