Good afternoon fellow Si enthusiasts. This is my first post and was introduced to this forum by the former owner of the Civic I have a question about (ABO). I put tein suspension on my Si this morning, and cant tell if I need a camber kit or not (I have pics but dont know how to post them w/ html format). It looks like it has a very slight sway on the rear only, but I dont know if its bad to have that little bit and live with it or should I buy and install the kit asap? Also where can I get a relatively inexpensive one if I need it? Thanks a ton! Love the DIY's.

do you have to get the car aligned? because we are working with struts right now in school, and its basically the same steps as this. but my teacher said that if you were going to take out the strut assembly you have to get it align afterward. so i was just wondering if you have to get it align or is it not required. btw nice diy

what springs did you install? for springs with a small drop, it's not really necessary. but, for springs with a more aggressive drop, cutting the bump stops will give the shocks a little more travel. as for how much you should cut, id take about 3/8 of it off.

Im pretty sure with any drop you are going to need a camber kit... When I had my maxima (99) I bought Tein Coilovers and droped it almost 2 inches... The camber didnt look any different to my naked eye but seriously almost 2 weeks later me and my friend go under my car and we lookat my tires.... Almost completly bald... I got the tires like a month before I did this.
Be care you might end up spending allot of money in rubber if you dont watch how it things play out. Basically I paid like 1200 dollars in tires within two months after buying a 1100 dollar suspension. A 100 dollar camber kit fixed my entire problem I wish I would have installed that off the bat ![]() |
