I can personally attest that this is a great modification. Have you ever heard of or experienced understeer? Going into a corner too fast can get you in trouble very quickly. With this modification you can not only avoid excessive understeer, but even promote oversteer! The stock rear sway bar is designed to be very soft, therefore absorbing torsional energy in the frame during cornering, keeping the rear wheels planted firmly on the ground. With an aftermarket sway and upgraded endlinks you can counteract oversteer by breaking traction with the rear wheels. Even though there is no power going to the rears, the rotational inertia of your car overcomes the grip of your tires, bringing the rear end of your car around in a slide when you lift your foot from the gas. At this point, even though your rear wheels have temporarlily lost traction you have begun the process of pointing the front end in the right direction around the corner, as soon as you reapply the throttle the car straightens out again. Great mod, seriously. As for the bracket reinforcement kit, i havent needed it, but it seems like quite a good idea, but you can make your own for alot less than the kit for sale.

Dang guys I really want this mod as I can attest to what Monsterbishi's saying that the stock sway so soft that if you pull/tug on the other end it bend and not even moving on the other side - BUT I'm contemplating if I get this first or the camber kit for rear - already have kit for the front but not installed yet but the thing is my car only dropped about 1.5 front and 1.0 rear (Pro-kit) Which one to go first? dang! my head hurts...... Help please!

Highly recomended mod!
The non-Si civics can even think about the smaller 21mm Blox rear sway bar along with the front Si sway bar from the sedan or coupe 27mm or 28mm. Also if the 2 door Si's here want less understeer they can downgrade their front oem 28mm sway bar to the sedan's 27mm bar. I believe the 25.2 hollow front sway bar found on LX, EX coupes is too much of a downgrade, you loose too much steering response and you gain more front body sway. |
