I suppose this DIY should be updated then to tell you that you need 8 bolts for the rear if you have a DX?

Updated. If any of the info/parts list is wrong, do bring it to my attention.

How sure are you that the DX doesn't come with one?

Gah, I remember when I had my 95L subaru wagon and it didn't have a rear sway bar. I had to buy rear lateral links with the brackets for the endlinks. I also put a Progress 22mm-24mm adj rear sway w/ heavy duty mounts and kartboy endlinks. Talk about a world of difference......felt like it was on rails for a while till I got used to it and had to mod it more.

Yeah, that was kind of random, but this thread made me think of it,

quick question for you LX/EX guys who put the Si sway bar on... if I buy a Si sway bar with the Si brackets and bushings, can I use the bolts from my LX's sway bar to mount the Si's or do I need to go to the dealership and pick up parts. What else would I need to sway the LX's sway bar with the Si's???

You can use the LX bolts for the Si bar/bracket/bushings as long as your not changing the control arms.

I have a si sway bar sitting here. I tried to install it and I did not have all the parts. Can someone give me a better description of the parts listed? Is the first part the sway bar itself?

I believe the first part is the sway bar itself.
From top to bottom:
Sway bar
Rubber bushings x 2
Metal "C" shaped bushigns x 2
--not so sure of this one--
Bolts & washers to be used with the bushings x 4

What do you have on hand?

I have the sway bar, the 2 bushings that are attached to the sway bar (sorta in the middle) and the brackets that go over the bushing to attach to the car.

I'm pretty sure I need those L shaped brackets that you attach the bushings to, but I dont know if i need anything else.

Yeaa you need the brackets. I believe the holes for the bolts are more spaced out from each other than on the stockies.

Just an FYI the sway was sold. Sitting in my room right now, I'll let you know how it hooks up when it stops raining and I can find an extra pair of hands to get the bar on!

Ya the holes on the L bracket need to be farther apart... do I need anything else besides those brackets? I already tried installing the bar, I had everything on then I realized that the bushings that are ON the si bar are a lot bigger, and the brackets that go on those bushings have holes that are farther apart.
