DIY: 06+ FG2 P2R Rear Lower Tie Bar

For sean over at P2R --great cust service and extremly fast shipping

Here is the P2R Rear Lower Tie Bar now offered by Power Rev Racing...

Parts Needed:
14mm ratchet
2 jackstands
bout 20 minutes of time

I used 2 jack stands for this job. One I used to jack up one side of the car as you would to change your tire. The other i put right underneath each bolt that I was taking out on the control arm to supoort it up..
In the first pic you can see where i located the jack and began to remove the left side 14mm bolt. I suggest doing it one side at a time...

--------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a better pic of the jack holding the control arm in place. Also Now you can see the left side is installed. Make sure you dont tighten all the way and you need to move it for the other side...

Now just do the same exact thing on the other side. Jack it up and place other jack under control arm for support. Remove bolt and place P2R tie bar in place and add bolt. Tighten.

here are a few pics of this sweet a$$ part installed!!

P2R Rear Lower Tie bar will help reduce chassis flex, and provide your car with better cornering ability.

The progress rsb would be a great addition with it... It does look pretty good though and compliments the back of the car nice with the billet design.. Besides its 80.00 bucks so other than cosmetics of it I wasnt expecting it to do a ton of difference in the overall suspension..

why is a jack necessary for this install? Couldn't I just crawl underneath there? If not what is the jack stand by the bolt that is being taken out?

I did it that way because when i released that bolt the camber arm came out of alignment slightly and wasnt the easiest to push up on it, hold the tie bar in place, place the bolt in and screw it in all at once...with the jack there made it alot easier... Just helps...

I've installed the same thing bar on my fg2. I tried talking to people who have taken it off and who have left it on. I chose to leave it off, I have not noticed any decrease in MPG or any questionable handling at higher speeds. As for the performance aspect of the bar I cannot tell a difference. I'm running a HFP suspension with Nitto Neogens and the car handles quite well. This part is just for looks and imo it looks very nice along side my evo2

NEVERMIND! Whether this does anything or not, this thing is sweet looking! FYI, for the DIY need to add elbow crease and a hammer to get the bold treads to catch. Thanks all!

Lift - the diffuser is actually functional and reduces aerodynamic lift.
