Si spring/shock setup or aftermarket w/ drop?
![]() Okay, here's a pic of my ex with the new rims... I was initially thinking of doing new springs with about a 1" drop. I'm more concerned with better handling since the new rims really fill out the fender gap nicely. On the flip side of the coin, I can get an Si suspension setup for much cheaper than new springs/camber adjusters (yes, I realize that camber adjusters are not ENTIRELY necessary on a 1" drop, but I'd want to save my tires :)) I'm leaning more towards the Si setup, but two questions I have: 1) Does the Si setup lower the car at all? (I imagine it doesn't...) 2) Are any camber adjustments required if I do switch to the Si setup? Thanks! J

I suggest trying the Si front and rear sways first. Or maybe the Si front and the Progress 22mm rear sways. They are relatively cheap and easy to install yourself. They really flatten the car out in the curves, getting rid of that mushy, vague feeling. Plus they won't make your car ride quality suffer. If they're not enough, then you can always add the suspension springs/dampers later.
Nice ride, BTW. |

And I'll keep saying that from my personal experience with my own car, just the rear Si sway bar did not give me the handling quality that I wanted. The front and rear Si sways together did. I understand your theoretical arguement. After you actually take delivery of your Civic in July, try it and see for yourself. If you like just the rear bar, great. You just saved yourself the ~$70 cost of the Si front sway bar. But you just might change your mind after actually driving with it in your own car. Last edited by iVTEC; 06-28-2006 at 01:23 AM. |
