TEIN Flex...so close you can taste it!

At last, one of my favorite suspension set-ups from TEIN is just about here from TEIN. They have all the specs, even pictures...should be here anytime now!
Here we go:
http://tein.com/honda.html
Its here, just scroll down to the 06 Civic

Specs:
9/504 Front
10/559 Rear
Those are about double the spring rates of the stock Si suspension no?
And Pillowball Upper mounts
Drops 2.9in. in the front, and 2.3in. in the back.
EDFC Compatible

Pics:

This would be at the top of my shopping list if I was going to mod my car.

that's too damn high unless you're going to run track all the time.
for comparison, i have a 3500lbs+ car that's running 463max rate
and aftermarket shocks. firm but comfy riding on 35's.

i would go no higher than 350-400lbs/in on this car if it's for street.
preferrably, im looking for something in the 250-300lbs/in range.

These are for sure more competition than the SS coilovers. Like I stated above, I have run the Flex coilovers before, and they are fine for daily use. Its a bit stiff, but on the softest setting its not too bad. I dont mind it.

That's kinda what i'm looking for too, 504/559 would beat the hell out of you as a daily driver. Kenchan, your cars are amazing. Good work man.

it could be a hell of a lot worse. 504/559 isnt all that bad. Try driving a set of coilovers actually made for the track on the street. My buddy put integra N1 Fightex coilovers on his EG hatch. 10K/8K spring rates...now thats hard.

that's too hard for me.
riding on the tein SS right now with the EDFC 340/390 F/R...it's stiff but still bearable.
that setup is waaay stiffer than the SS...i think it would be too stiff for anyone else who'd have to ride with me G/f, family etc.

if i hit a bump on the stiffest setting on the EDFC...my lower back pays...i can't imagine what this will feel like.

it must kick ass around the track though...be sure to let us know what it feel like when u get it.

Nice. How much do they run?

And its not no 2.9 and 2.3 drop. If it was the car would be MUCh lower. Maybe the pics are of it once its installed, not after its settled.

not it can go to that much...they just didn't do it that much for the pictures.

i have a tein SS drop and it can go a lot lower than i have it now. but that won't be practical.

the flex are the same as the SS only with higher spring rate. The dampers are the same I believe. You can get the flex and find that they are too stiff and order custom springs. You can get almost any spring rate you want.
If you want upgraded dampers you have to move up to the monoflex.

Pretty much right.
The Flex's have pillow ball upper mounts standard (an option on the SS) and are compatible with the Electronic damper adjustment system if you are into that sort of thing.

I have the Type Flex on my DSM, and love them. The spring rate is high, but the dampers are made for it. So even if you slam the car the ride feels great. The stock DSM suspension was crap compared to the stock Si suspension, so the change was huge.

If I was going to get a suspension for my Si, I'd just get the HFP kit. You can't beat factory tuning when it comes to suspensions. It's just such a complicated science.

However, if you are looking to slam your car and have a good ride that carves corners like Freddy Kreuger on crack, I can't think of a better way to spend $1200 than the Tein Type Flex.
