If you're going with a tighter suspension package the 17's would probably feel more comfortable than the 18's. Personally I see very little difference in the two.

At first I didn't think I'd like the bronze on black, thinking blade silver was the optimal choice on black, but those look nice on the sedan. I may have to reconsider, especially given the price on College Hills.

I wonder if there are 17 inch Mugen GP's available.

I actually dont think they offer the 17's but I thought I saw some replicas on battel's site, the sponsors site. I think they Have 17's. Ok but if i wanted a tighter feel then I should go with the 17's.?

I don't have the HFP wheels. I have a GG FG2, just like GeezerSi... and was commenting on how sweet it looks, it makes me want to buy some. Matter of fact, I haven't seen any 8th gens that look bad with any size of the HFP wheels. I think Honda hit a home run with these. too bad that they stopped making the carbon bronze color.

I guess I don't know for a fact, I'm assuming they stopped since the new ones are "blade silver." Someone who knows should probably chime in now.

HFP suspension will tighten it up pretty well. It's my understanding the 18's will give you a tighter/stiffer feel because there less sidewall to flex. For the same type of wheel 18's are heavier than 17's so your unsprung weight goes up. Less weight under the suspension gives better handling performance. More sidewall/rubber will smooth out the ride and absorb more energy. I don't think the difference will be measurable unless you're constantly on the track competing.

Tighter is not always better, a car can be too tight for a given surface. Unimproved roads and generally bad roads can wreak havoc on mechanical grip with a very tight suspension not to mention your back. For a daily driver that you plan to go everywhere in, having a balanced setup is more important.

I opt for 17's because it's inevitable that I will eventually hit a pothole and having more tire to absorb the energy would be safer for my wheels.

Someone more experienced than me can give you a much better explanation of all this, I just read these forums, play Forza 2 and sleep at Holiday Inn's.

with the hfp and 17s i still think the wheel gap is too large.. i would go with 18s if your going with hfp suspension

Oh if anyone has a close up of HFP suspension and 17's or 18 of the wheel gap. Also tire size would be cool too.

You're right about the exhaust not being as obvious as on other kits. It's a minor nitpick for me, since you can see it pretty well if you're behind the car. I like the seamless look the whole HFP kit gives. My wheels are 18 x 7.5 5Zigen Pro Racer GN+ and tires are 225/40/R18 Nitto NT NeoGen ZRs.

Edit: I find that the 18s are more harsh than the 17s, but not by any great measurement. (It passes the Wife Test on road trips.) In fact, I gladly give up the softness of the 17s for the better grip and handling of the 18s.

Heres a couple pictures of mine. 18x8 with a 225/40 tire. The tire is slightly bigger then most of the same size(if that makes sense...) No drop or anything yet, but I'm planning on the HFP suspension.

i actually just bought the HFP suspension,. Question about the WARRANTY again so if I install it would it void it? or do they have to install it (dealer) for the car to keep its warranty.
