I can only speak to the Hawk HPS pads. Never tried the Axxis. Have been using the HPS pads for a couple of years now on different vehicles and they are a vast improvement over any OEM's I have seen from Honda, Toyota, or GM. You will note a definite improvement in stopping power and fade. Dust build up is lower also. These pads are pretty quiet also, which to me is a big plus. I hate squeaky brakes with a passion.

Well I sell both so let me tell you what I would tell any other customer.

Hawk HPS - This is what 90% of our customers purchase for all kinds of applications be it 400hp cars or 4 ton trucks :)

Axxis Ultimates - We don't sell very many of them but IMO they are the best pad on the market. I ran them on my Integra along with Power Slot rotors and the braking was improved what seemed about 200%.

So to compare them... The HPS pads being semi metallic will give you less brake dust then the Axxis Ultimates as the Ultimates are a Ceramic/Kevlar mixture. I seriously have never had a dustier pad then the Axxis Ultimates as they turned my bronze wheels black on a daily basis. The Ultimates will give you better braking as they have more tolerance to heat soak. I ran the pads several times up to 100 and back to 0 with no brake fade whatsoever. The Hawk HPS pads will have alot of tolerance but they would give out before the Axxis pads would. Lastly would be the life expectancy; The HPS pads should outlast the Ultimates by a pretty decent amount was once again the metallic pad will wear less then the ceramic pad.

Either way, you can't go wrong :)

So no that this is taken care of....06 Si owners should be aware that we share the same brake pads as the RSX type S and the S2000. if u want an upgrade go ahead and get those...
they fit...

Actually most Pep Boys don't carry the HP Plus or HP Ceramics only the HPS and generally they keep low stocks but can order them to have them in a day or two.

anyone ever find out for sure if the rsx or s2000 pads fit? I checked part numbers and they are all different so i was just wondering what the outcome was.

The rsx pad WILL fit ours... I bought a set of rsx pads last week and installed them, apparently most chains don't have the si in their catalogs yet..

ok thats good to know b/c I was checking part numbers and the only ones that match are the rear pads. I guess the front are the same size just a different material or something. BTW does it matter RSX s vs the base model RSX?
