Lightbulb Decisions decisions.... Help!

Help! I need some opinions here cause I can't make up my mind. Should I get the HFP suspension and HFP kit for my car? Or should I get the Tein full coilovers with the EDFC?

Anyone have the HFP suspension? How do you like it? Tein? I like the way the HFP kit looks and that its not another fiberglass body kit. I really prefer how the cars look with the body kit. But I like good handling. I'm planning on doing a retro to my headlights and clearing the corner ambers out, so it's look is going to change a bit more.

Here's my car:

Here's a picture of TypeX's car with the HFP kit and retro so you have a better idea of what mine might look like.

I can get all of the HFP stuff for the same price as the Tein set up. I can't decide!!!!

What about Eibach?

But I like the HFP setup that Xtype has.

Eibach prosprings? I've weighed that option too. But the price of the eibachs with installation is pretty close to the cost of the whole HFP suspension set up. I work at a dealership so my installation costs really won't be that high.

Do you have the Eibachs?

I have the HFP body kit on my GG Si and absolutely love it. Definitely changes the softer, rounded ends of the car. It's first class material too. Might be a good idea to do it now and not in, say, a year from now. Mainly due to paint matching. The bodykit will match your car perfectly now but who's to say in a year or so.

Thinking about the HFP suspension too. I find the stock Si a bit unnerving at near limits. Too top heavy in a sense. With the HFP suspension you get the warranty and a proven suspension. I'm sure the others are top notch but are they worth the extra money? You going to Auto-X? For street driving, the HFP suspension will suit me fine. Now I just have to find the extra green for it. Time to sell another kidney or something.

I would if I could but I don't know how that'd go with my boss. Plus you're out in Buffalo Grove!!!! If I still lived over in Bartlett it wouldn't be a prob, but shipping would cost ya from here.

Thanks. :) I'm undecided as too what I'm going to do autox or just drag. You make a lot of good points. Points that my subconsious has been making as well. It's nice to get other opinions. Thanks again.

ok type X has HFP body kit and comptech's lowering springs....depending on how he drives he'll have to upgrade the struts/shocks sooner than later.

u were asking about the HFP suspension...my decision was between the HFP suspension and the tein SS as well...i went with tein ss + edfc(a lot more expensive) for these reasons..

HFP suspension is non adjustable(ride height and stiffness)...so what if it's too stiff and i didn't like it? what if i don't like the drop it provided?
with the tein i could adjust height, stiffness and the ride i a lot better than stock even on the stiffest setting...but u pay the price...but u get to enjoy the toys.

If u don't care about the stiffness of the ride but u still want height adjustability i say go with the tein basic coilover(about 900)...the spring rates are the same as the Tein SS but the struts are not adjustable.

i'd advise against getting just springs...but that's me.

and the hfp body kit is a must for the Si IMO..

ur rims look kinda small...i think u need a drop bigger than what the HFP suspension will provide to cut that gap significantly...

get the the HFP body kit first...it will help with the car's overall look...then save up a little and get a full coilover system of ur choice to set it off.

I say neither. Keep saving your money and get a better suspension when it comes out. Trust me, you might be happy with the TEIN SS for a while, but then when your friend in the same car gets the TEIN Flex (when it comes out) and starts passing you on the inside lane around a tight turn, you will wish you waited.
Save your money, and keep waiting. The parts are comming
